Bronchocele or r.oitre, (SxreHril Neele., He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of | goitre, and it ha? never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary j case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing bronchn cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be j removed with as much certainty as Fever and A-ue. He does not wish to be understood a? giv ing that they can he cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but vvith as much certainty, - and furl her, that ; he*has good reason for believing tha: this prepara- j tion will not only «nre these diseases when formed, j hut that it de-troys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrolui a emanate. Scrofula—Xlag's Hvil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases of Scrofula, King's Evil, and scrolui' U? swell tugs, , and always with the most deci .ed success. Skin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of rv:anc on* affections, and found it successful incuringsalt rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, raorphew and jaundiced skin, &c. Dyspepsia and Uver Complaint. It ha? been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic-Donlourcuz. It has been used in several case-s of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation ha? been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheiimaism, and in every casein which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease w as removed 1 (.out. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man j had been afflicted with ii so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from hu?iness. ami for five months immediately previous to his taking j the Alterative he, had been confined to hi? room; but before he had finished llm third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after rc turnsd to his business, from which he bad so long been excluded by Ids afflictions? Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases tbs power? of 'digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduce 1. It imparts lone and vitality to the whole system, removing • ick and morbid headache?, giddiness, wandering painsand nervous affections. In fact, in every case where tlie medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for wli t pur- Eose.the general health of the patient has always ■ een improved ny it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that hajp ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831. a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem. N. J. It was examined by many i Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic m irks of one. All probable means of removing it were used i without ihe slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent i Physicians, was performed, Jan. 1-t, 1833. by Dr. I John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the : proprietor, and two other medical gert'emen. The w hole and entire right breast was roroH, and af ter examination of the tumor, was piorto inoyd by ail present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months,afterenduring iticredi- i hie sufferings, ?he was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years a Tier herb: east had b’*en removed, a painful tumor made it? ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the ; part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un derthe right arm were enlarged; and scirrhu?. and & hard, irregular, and at limes painful turm or. ap peared in the. left breast. No operation couki now arrest the disease- Indeed her whole hodyappear ed to he a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which vvns about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet right and morning with a strong solution of lodine and llv driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base,and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed, No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterward?; and her general health, w Inch had been so had for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of ihe diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He ■would also say that he could mention over a dozen rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cuticerand cancerous tumours, but he ha* not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton's Bridge,X. J., bad ft goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a? large as the half of an orange, w Inch was cured by using this Alterative fur about four months. Mi?s R S .South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breiun-bonc, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and frem her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to in crease until she via* nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which’she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck a* can be found.
