By offering to the public such an article 1 have been liberally patronized, for i which 1 feel grtcful. 1 have warranted my fine gins. 1 have never had one returned as not com ing up to what I promised. It is known I have, | ; and do promise that uiv gins make superior cot ton. 1 have no travelling agents, 1 rely on mv ; j gins telling a better talc for me,and one that will be sooner believed than a travelling agent; in i j short, 1 hope to make mv y ins sell themselves. 1 feci confident in staling that I have made valua ble improvements in line gins, and that i shall hereafter furnish an improved gin to anything heretofore sold. I would also inform citizens of ; Warren, Washington, Wilkes. Columbia and Burke counties, that 1 have purchased Simpson’s l improvement for band inacbineiy, and those who ( | purchase my gins in the counties named will have | the use of the patent Dec; the material, when de- j I sired, will he put on the head block, free ot charge. 1 It will require a small outlay of material on the ! band wheel, which will tie furnished at the lowest possible rate, and which, win n used, reduces the draft loan astonishing extent; the character of the improvement is simply by propelling the ma chinery by a slack band, instead of a tight one.— My finest Friction Holler Gins arc sold al £3 per saw. My plain gins are also greatly improved, and wifi be sold according to kind, from jjji'i to jjrJ 50 per saw. My finest gins hu\e heretofore sold higher than other gins, an I yet, heretofore, 1 have not been able to supply the demand, whilst 1 have been unable to sell but few plain gins. Oglesby, E-q., of Sparta, over that fiorn other gins. It has invariably commanded the highest i price, and very frequently one-fburth of a cent per pound mote than other cottons of the same j class. Sparta , February 1 1th, 1817.—This is to cer tify-, that I have owned one of .Mr. OglcqJby’s im proved cotton ums for two years, and ciin safely recommend his gins for two reasons. 'I he first, that they donut cut the lint or staple as other gins. The next, 1 consider them the most dura ble gins that 1 have ever used. M. G. HARRIS.
