The proprietor of this Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he has not onere- j this preparation to their notice without <l ue r - 1 * tion, and close and rigid study, n ,,r I,n | l _ j twelve years’ experience had _ superiority over every other art| < le < • beenco,.- gidered incurable. f T«e ha« prescribed it in almost evert 'aru tj of , l.e has p unparalleled success, especially , dl *cnmneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and IS diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction the glands or impuri ty of the biou * Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards oft wen- j tv well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors. and in every case but one with perfect and entire success. ; Bronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) , He lias prescribed it in over a hundred cases of j ♦mitre, and it has never failed in a single instance j to completely remove the disease. .Not a solitary j case of fadure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho- | cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous und horrible otseases umy be j removed with as much certainty as lever and A.nie. He does not w ish to be understood as say- j j : n 7r that they can be cured as sqou as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainty; and further, that lie has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only < ure these diseases when formed, but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate. Scrofula —King’s Evil, This preparation lias been used in numerous cases ofScrofula, King’s Evil*, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci ed success. Skia Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morphew and jaundiced skin, Arc. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. Il has been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and w ith the happiest ciiet l. Tic-Douloureux. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation's been prescribed in a great j many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every case in which it was used until tin* system oe< arne affected by the medicine, the disease was removed 1 Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and ' for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; biit before he had finished third bottle, lie was enabled to walkabout the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long j been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings. This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduced, it imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for vvh I pur pose, the general health of the patient lias always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, cai cer, brunchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne's A’lcrmive, In the spring of 1831. a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast > Irs. Phoebe, w ife of IVter I Stretch, of JSalem, a J. i. was examined by many Physicians, and was Considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size ami painfuluess, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was , abandoned, wtveh, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed. Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted bv Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast w as retno-’-d, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pro.ioanced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, afterenduring incredi ble sufferings. she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again, •'•he remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837. upwards of five years after her bi east | had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on tlie right side, immediately over the pari formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast. pre\ ions to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un derthe right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease- Indeed her whole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Herca.se was consid ered hopeless, Bhe was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as site took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around ltie tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of iodine and llv driodale Potash. The tumour continued increas ing iu size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and theluraourswelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. 1 The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. lie would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancerand cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, as large as the half of an orange, winch was cured by using this Alterative for about four njontlts. Miss R S .South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin ami breast-bone, and extended around on ; each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from i her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de j formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. ami continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, w hich entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give Iter name in print, but will refer per- J eon’ to her. For sale by WJI. IC. KITCHEN, 28 ly ‘2 Sole Agent for Georgia.
