They have not received a cent pay since they left home, nor pay from the government, so that as far as outward appearances are concerned, they must be a shabby looking set. The great medical virtues of Sarsaparilla, are well known and appreciated hy physicians, hut the uncertainty of the strength of the different preparations of the root, some being almost inert, has caused the medicine itself to fall into disrepute, 't he Messrs. H., editor of the Congregational Journal, a religious newspaper of a high character, *peaks volumes in favor of the good qualities of Wistar’s Balsam: Concord, N. H. March 2,181 G. Mr. S. W. 1 iuvlh Sir: Two years ago flic past winter, a,sodden ai*d violent attack upon my lungs by exposure U> cold-, confined me to my r ora and bed for several Weeks; and when I re covered i was so much oppressed by difficulty in breathing, that I was incapable of rapid Walking and violent eterrtbe, and often Was Unable to sleep or rest Upon a bed by r.'ght, The suffering was frequently extreme, and judging from the itteffica ty of lh6 remedies used, I supposed the disease in curable. Being persuaded to try A bottle of Wis tar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, without the least con fidence in its efficacy cr that of any other prescrip tion, no one can fully understand my surprise and Joy, when I found the difficulty almost entirely re moved before one bottle was used np. Having a mortal aversion to medicine, anti seldom using it in any form, nothing but sympathy with my fel iow-suff rers induces me to make this public state ment, and recommend the article to others similar ly afflicted.
