tiTiti lie now recofUnmnds it with confidence.l i
believing that the above combination ol medicine
will effectually eradicate from the swtein a mass
of disease some of which have lierctwtote oceti con
sidered incurable.
He has prescribed it in almost every variety of
disease and with unparalleled success, especially
in cutaneous affections, cam-emus, -i-rofuimis anti
scorbutic diseases, anti diseases uric matin:* from
obstruction or enlargement of Hie glands or impuri

Cancer and Cancerous Tumors.
He lias used this preparation in upwards oft wen
tv well defined cases of cancer and cancerous to
vaors, and in every case but one with perfect and
entire success.
Uronchocelc or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.l
He. has prescribed it in over a hundred cases ot
goitre, ami it ha> never failed in a single instance
to completely remove the disease. Aot a solitary
case of failure. All were cured.
The success he has met with in curing broncho
orlr and cancerous affect ions has convinced him
that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be
removed with as much certainty as 1 ever and
Ague. He dues not wish to be understood as say
ing that they can be cured as scon as Fever ami
Ague, but with as much certainty; and further, that
lie has coot! reason for believing that this prepara
tion w ill not only t nre these diseases when formed,
but that it destroys the vims or poisonous principle
lurking in the system, from which that peculiar
class of diseases, as well as that ofscrofulaeihanaie.
Scrofula—King’s Evil.
This preparation has been used in numerous cases
of Scrofula. King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings,
and always- with the most deci led sm-oess.

Tic-Douloureux.
It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia,
and in every case it was suecessful.
Rheumatism.
This preparation has been prescribed in a great
many eases of chronic rkerrmuivm, and tu every
case in which it was used Until the system became
affected by the medicine, the disease was removed*
(lout.
A number of cases of gout have been cured by
tins preparation, lu one of these cases, the man
had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen
years as to entirely disable him from business, ami
for five months immediately previous to his taking
the Alterative he had been confined to his room;
but before he had finished the third bottle, he was
enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re
turned to liis business, from which lie had so long
been excluded by his afflictions.
Dropsical Swellings,
This medicine increases the powers of digestion,
excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by
which watery or calcareous depositions, anti all
unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts
tone aud vitality to the whole system, removing
sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering
pafhs and nervous affections.
In fact, in every case where ihe medicine has
been taken for some time, no matter tor wii.t pur
pose, the general health ofthe patient has always
been improved by it.
In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some
of the. most astonishing eases ol skin diseases, can
cer, brouchocele, and scrofula, have been cured t>y
this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut
want of room in this sheet precludes their publico.-
ioa at this time.
cancer.
„la Interesting case cured hi/ Jayne s Aileronve.
lu the spring of 1831. a cancerous tumor appear
edin the right breast of .Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter
Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many
Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous,
and besides bore all the characteristic marks of
one. All probable means of removing it were used
without the slightest benefit. It continued to in
crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope
of saving her life, but by a painful operation, w as
abandoned, which, after a consultation ol eminent
Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr.
John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the
proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The
whole and entire rightbreast was removed, ami af
ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by
all present a cancer ofthe most malignant diarac
ter. In about three months, afterenduriug iucredi
ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in
spirit, to get about again, lie remained feeble,
and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in
deed it had been for several years before. In the
springof 1837, upwards of live years after herbreast
had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap
pearance mi the right side, immediately over the
part formerly occupied by tlie nipple of the right
breast, previous toils removal. This tumor steadi
ly increased for several months, and became so
painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands uu
derthe rightanu were enlarged; and M-irrhus, and
a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap
peared in the left breast. No operation could now
arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear
ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid
ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous hahit,
both her parents having died of Pulmonary con
sumption. T’he experiment was now made with
this Alterative. It was at first given in small
doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu
ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she
took it, which was about six months, and the skin
over and around the tumour was wet night and
morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy
driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas
ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times
very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto
gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and
became soft, and then began to diminish, and con
tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of
disease was removed. The tnmaur in her left
breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis
persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever
appeared afterwards; and her general health, which
had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a
burthen, was effectually ami permanently restored.
The proprietor is in possession of the diseased
breast, and those who choose may examine it. He
would also say that he could mention over a dozen
cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative
has subdued cancerand cancerous tumours, but be
has not room hereto record them.
Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J.,
had a goitrous tumour on the lef t side of her w ind
pipe, as large as the. half of an orange, w hich
cured by using this Alterative for about four
months.
Miss R S , South Fourth-street. Phila
delphia, was also cured of an enlargement ofthe
throat, which filled the entire space between the
chin ami breast-bone, and extended around on
each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from
her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de
formity. It commenced growing when she was
but five years oid, anti continued gradually to in
crease until site was nineteen, at which time she
commenced using this Alterative, w hich she took
for seven months, which entirely reduced the en
largement; and she. has now as smooth and pretty
a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at
ihprty tngive her name in prim, hut will refer per
son'-’ to her.

I have used for the last three years a machine
that was made by S. It. Crenshaw, of Crawfurd

ever seen. Two small mules will gin, with A
great deal of ease, three bales per day, and 1 do not
think there is a gin in Georgia that can excel it in j
making line cotton. In fact, Mr. Crenshaw has |
sold a great many gins in this county and Elbert,

perfectly satisfied. All of Ins gins Which have
