CHARLESTON, June 3 — Cotton. —Very little has been done in t is article since our report of the 29th ult. There has been some inquiry, hut holders were unwilling to meet purchasers at their offers, and the transactions in the three business days j have been i miied to 50 ) hales at about the prices paid last week. The sales have been at prices ranging from 10 to 1 He., principally from 111 to j life per Jb. About 161) bales Nankeen were sold : at 9lc. The extremes range from 4i to $5 per him- ' dred, about 70 tierces bringing the latter prices. I MOBILE, May 29.— Cotton. —The rereipts at i this portthis weekare 1175 bales, and the exports j 10,408 bales. The stock on hand and on ship- ■ board not cleared is 100,035 bales, against 80,6 8 bales same time last season. The market opened on Saturday with a good enquiry, a nd 1,500 bales changed hands at prices current at the close of the last week. Previous to the arrival of the mail on Monday, some 5()0 bales were disposed of without change of rates, but the telegraphic accounts by the Britannia at Boston, came through and put a stop to tlie operations.— The mail of Tuesday furnished full accounts of the Liverpool market up to the 4th instant, show ing a material decline in the price of cotton and a very unfavorable condition of monetary aflatrs. The effect of this intelligence here was a pretty genera! suspension of transactions. The large holders who had previously offered their samples very sparingly, manifested a firmer indisposition to cell, while buyers appeared equally indisposed to operate but at a con-iderable reduction in prices' The business of the three last days is comprised in the sale of 1500 hales, at prices somewhat irregu lar, but mainly within the range of our quotations. The sales of the week foot, up 3900 bales in daily transactions as follows : Saturday 1500; Monday 5 0; Tuesday 300; Wednesday 300, Thursday TOO; Friday 500 bale®.
