He has -prescribed it in almost every variety of disease and with unparalleled succe-s. especially in cruaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and Hcorbcric diseases, and diseases origVr ating from nbsfrhciion or enlargement of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer ami Cancerous Tuatovs. He lias used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well denned cases of cancer and cancerous tu- Ynors, and in every case but one with perfect and entire success, Itronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neele. He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it never failed in a single instance to compietely remove the disease. -Not a solitary ’case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with ■./ curing h-om ho rde and cancerous affections lias convinced biia tli.it these tiangerous and horrilde diseases may be removed w ill l as mm h certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not w ish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and \iriie, but with as nint h certainty; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only no-° these diseases when formed, but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of.scrofula, emanate. Scrofula— King's Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases of Scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the must deei >d success. .Skit* Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in c tiring sail rheum, of tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, rnurphev and jaundiced skin, A<‘. It lias been used in several cases of Neuralgia, nrid in every case it was successful. • Rheumatism. Tin- preparation has been prescribed in a great many eases of chronic rbeumaism, and in every ra*e.in which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed’ Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one o( these case.-', the man had been afflicted v\ith it so HA.-rely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative lie had been conlined to Ids room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walkabout the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long been excluded by his afflictions. Dr op sica I Stvt* I lings. This medicine increases tire powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which waterv or calcareous depositions, and ad unniltural enlargements are reduced. It imparts .tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches.giddiness, wardering pains and nervous affections. Iti fact, in every case where the medimne has been taken for some time, no matter for wh, t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. in conclusion, the propuotor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can tor, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured oy this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica iort at this time. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1331, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the rig lit breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of om*. All probable means of removing it w ere used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in si/e and pain fulness, until all hope | of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 18112, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The _ whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of tire most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring iiu redi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again, Khe remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of live years after her bt east had been removed, a painful rumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so ! painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un derthe right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a ham, irregular, and at limes painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast- No operation could now arrest ihedisease. Indeed her whole bodyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. Khe was of a very scrofulous habit, boili her parents having died of Pulmonary con- 1 sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first giv« n La small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and 11/ driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base.and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those m her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and hergeneral health, which had been so had for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the, diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. Ho would also say that ha dould mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge,N T . J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, as largo as the half of an orange, w hic h was cured by using this Alterative fur about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth .street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space. between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on •ach side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, aqd continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, ;.v which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can he found. The proprietor is not at iberty to give her name in print, but will refer per son* to her. For sale by WM. K.
