The proprietor of this Alterative would most re sped fully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without due re flee- ; non, and close and rigid study, nor until alter j twelve years’ experience had manifested its great , superiority over every other article ot ihe kind, and lie now recommends it with confidence, fully j believing that the above combination <>! medicine will effectually eradicate from the system a class j of disease some of which ha\ e heretoiote oeeu con- j sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of j disease and with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and ; scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer Inml Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards of oven- | Ay well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu- i mors, and in every ease but one with perfet l and entire success. Brouchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.; He has prescribed it in over a hundred < as *s of | goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance j to completely remove the disease. Not a -oLlary j case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho celc and cancerous affercinns has ronvim iiuu ♦ hat these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainty as Fever and A "lie. He does not wish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever ami i Attue, but with as much certainty; and further, that i be has good reason for believing that this prepara- I tion will not only cure these diseases when formed, but that it destroys the v irus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of sc rot ill a emanate. Scrofula —King's Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases es Scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci .ed success. SkiA Discuses. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheumahm, and in every case in wlnch il was used until the svsteni became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed" Lout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man hod been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable hint from business and for live months immediately previous to hi- taking the Alterative he iiad been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re- j turned to h\* business, Irurn which he ha.a sc 1 -:*■£ been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and ad unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparls tone arid vitality to the whole system, removing • ick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wanueriug pains and nervous affections. . In fact, in every case where the medicine lias been taken for some time, no matter for w h t pur pose, the general health es the patient has always been improved Uy it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured fn this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precltiucs thetr pubiica lon at this lime. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. 1 hoebe, wile of t eter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used | without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope j of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, w hich, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted bv Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter In about three months, afterenduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in ■spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in- j deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years after herbreast had been removed, a painful tumor made fts ap pea ranee on -the right side, immediately over ~.e part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous toils removal. 'This tumor steadi ly increased for several mouths, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scinhus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole budyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was -at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu- i ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she i took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and I morning with a strong solution of lodine and Ily d-riodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing )a sT?.e tor about stx weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of j disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those m her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he ha* not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her w ind pipe, as large as the half of an orange, w hich was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R-- S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck a* can be found. The proprietor is not at xberty togive Let name in print, but will refer per sons to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN. Hp id iy 2 Sole Agentlor Georgia. 1 NOTICE TO COTTON PLANTERS.
