COTTON.—The market during the pist week ha* remained much the same as noticed lor the two previous weeks. On Sunday night vve re ceived, per telegraph, the steamers accounts of the 4th instant, giving an advance in the Liverpool market of id. since the Hth ult. On Monday there was some little enquiry for the article, and purchasers appeared willing to pay a slight ad vance on previous rates, but holders shew no dis position to sell, so there were no operations, both parties appearing anxious to receive their for cign letters. These came to hand on Monday eve ning.and fully confirmed the telegraphic accounts. Yesterday, however, there were no transactions— buyers not seeming disposed to pay over 4c. ad vance on form°r prices, and holders refusing I* show their samples at any such price. Holders of the article in this market seem to have much con fidence that prices will go higher, and some few are shipping their stocks to the seaboard and north ern markets. Hearing of no sales, vve can give nothing like quotations with anything like accura cy, and we therefore omit them. RECEIPTS OF COTTON. Prom the.
