Constitutional Disorders send diseases ori ginating from a depraved or Lupine state of the ; Blood or other fluids of the body. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re- j tspectfull v assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec tion. and close and rigid study, nor until after swelve years' experience had manifested its great superiority over every other article of the kind,— pnd he now recommends it with confidence, fully t elieving that the above combination of medicines will effectually eradicate from* the system a class ct diseases some ot which have heretofore been con sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of diseases and with unparalleled success, especially i in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, .and diseases originating from obstruction 01 enlargement of the glands or iiupuri- ! ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors, He has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous lu- I mors, and in every case but one with perfect and i entire success. Bronchoc&la or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary I case of failure, All were cured. The success he h-s - met with in curing broncho- j cele and cancerous affections has convinced him I that theS6 dangerous and horrible diseases may be i removed with as much certainly as Fever and Ague. He does not wish to be understood as say- : ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainty: and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only cure tin »*> diseases when formed, ! but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that pecunar | class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate, Scrofula—King’s Evil. i This preparation has been used in numerous cases of scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swell ings, and always with the -most decided success. Skin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morphew and jaundiced skin, A c. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous ca*e? of liver com- ! plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. T i c-D cmloureux. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases ot chronic rheumatism, and in everv 1 case in which it was used until the system became I affected by the medicine, the dic.ea;t was removed. ' Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured bv i this preparation, la one of these cases, the man i had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen* years as to entirely disable liiVu from business, and for five months immediately previous to ids taking i the Alterative he had been confined to his room; | but before he had finished the third bottle, he was ■ coabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long ! been excluded by his affliction. Dropsical Swellings. This medicine increases the powers of digestion excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, bv 1 which watery or calcareous depositions, and all uti- ! natural enlargements are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing | sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for what pur- • pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some ! of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. Cancer. An interesting case cared by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem N. J. I( was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic nlarks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1032, by Dr. John Rhea Carton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, ai d af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by 1 all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble) and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it bad been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of live years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprive her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear td to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, eoth her parents having died of Pulmonary con bumption. The experiment was now made wiih shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hydriodate Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased altogether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and continued gradually decreas ing until every vestige of disease was removed.— The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right exilla were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for four teen years as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. lie would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, »s large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which tilled the entire space between the * chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi ty. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the enlargement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck us can ‘ be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give , her name in print, but will refer persons to her. For sale by \VM. K. KITCHEN. sep 28 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. CHRISTIE'S GALVANIC RINGS A ND Magnetic Fluid rail IIS remarkable invention, which has received j ifie almost universal approbation of the Medi cal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en tirely new application of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and Magnetic Machines, Ac., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the general mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ular intervals, in winch Galvanism is applied by the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im partial trial, to be decidedly injurious, and it w as to remedy this radical defect, that this new applica tion was projected’, which after unceasing toil and perseverance has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in many other respects are more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, are confidently recommended in all disorders which arise Loin an enfeebled or un hcalthi; stale of the nervous or vital system, and those complaints are among the most painlul and univer sal to w hich we are subject. They arise, w ithout exception, to one single cause—-a derangement of the Nervous system —and it was in these cases that other “remedies 7 ’ having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judi cious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Kings have been used with entire success in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, applying to the head, face or limbs: Gout, Tic- Dolo> eiix ; Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Fivk Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses, Palsy, Kpilrf.su, Fits, Cramp, Pal/ indie /t of the Heart, Ap pople.cn. Stiffness oh Joints, Spinal Complaints. Lum - hugo. Neuralgia. Nervovs Tremors, Dizziness of (he Had. Pains in the Chest and Side, General Debit - it it, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pepsia. which is simply a nervous derangement of the dlgesti * c organs, they have been found equally successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the svstem must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain Preventive for the preceding complaints they are equally recommended. The Rings arc of different prices, 1 eing made of all sizes and of va rious ornamental patterns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In tact the sensation is ratuer agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Rands, Garters, Necklaces, Ac. In some cases of a very severe character and of long standing the power as"applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress of dis ease and ultimately to restore health. The improv ed modification in the Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, far., entirely remedies (his objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to be permanently re lieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, or any part of the body w ith perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces, are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Nervous Deafness; aad with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. CHRISTIE’S MAGNETIC FLUID. Is issued In connection with the Galvanic Rinv'S, and all their modifications. This composition has been pronounced by the French Chemists to be one of tin most Extraordinary discoveries of mod ern science. It is 'believed to possess a remarkable power of rendering the Nerves sensitive to Galvanic ■action, by these-means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of disease, and thus giving ra pid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. 'The I Magnetic Fluid contains nothing capable of the j slightest injury, its application is agreeable, and it ; is as harmless in its action us it is beneficial in its result. The combine J inventions afSe in every way ' perfectly harmless ; they are at prices within reach ; of all, and the discoverer only requests a fair trial, j as a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent i benefit. Claislie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas ters. These articles form another valuable application and the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They ! are too important adjuncts to the genuine Galvanic j Rings and their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but having this advantage of more local application. They are confidently recom mended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nerA'ous j complaints, and us a positive remedy in cases of Pain and VV eakness in the Chest or Back, Pain in | the Side, Asthmatic Affections, and in Weakness or Oppression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spi nal Complaints, their effects are of the most decided character, and they have often been used with complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage iu Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Strengthening the sys tem when debilitated by disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive lor Colds, and in all affections of the i Chest, generally, the Galvanic Strengthening Plas -1 ter, will be found of great and permanent advantage, j In a few words, it embraces all the virtues of the j best tonic preparation with the important addition ; of the Galvanic influence, which is neither impair | ed cr exhausted, while the action continues. These | articles will be found entirely free from those ob jections w hich are a constant source of complaint with the ordinary Piasters in common use. ; ffjTThe great .celebrity and success of these ar ; tides have caused them to be counterfeited by un | principled persons. THE startling drawback on nearly all Medicinal Agents has ever been that in their process of pnr i gation and purification, they have also Debilitated the System. Hence Purgative Medicines have al ways been regarded as at best but a Necessary Evil; Patients resorting to them for the relief of one disease at the expense of another. To obviate this, Physicians have long sought for an Agent that would at the same time PURGE PURIFY AND STRENGTHEN. But their efforts were nearly fruitless, and they had almost despaired of success when the labors of science and research, wore rewarded by' a discov ery which fully realized the fondest desires of the Medical Faculty, and which is justly regarded as ; one of the most important Triumphs that Pharmacy has ever achieved. This important desideratum is named Dr. Le Roy’s Vegetable Universal Pills. Which Purify the lilood, and remove ail corrupt and vitiated humors, and unhealth y accumulations from the body in a manner never before rivalled, and which yet produce no weakness nr lassitude what- I ever, but on the contrary, tone the Stomach, and ; invigorate the constitution during the progress of | their operation. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills, in fact, unite | those heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable qualities, Evacuation and luniooration. for they are at the same time a STRENGTHENING PURGA , TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. I Ihe tw'o paincipal ingredients in Dr. Le Roy’s | Pills are ! WILD CHERRY .V SARSAPARILLA. So prepared that each promotes the beneficial ef i feet of the other, the former strengthening, while I the latter, through, its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity' or lassitude of the the Diges tive Functions, and hence their operations are at tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills are the most active and search ing Medicine in existence. They at once attack the very root of Diseases, and their action is so prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, the patient is aware of their good effects. They not only operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, of which the Blood is formed, and this secures good ! lilood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro- I duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a i family medicine they have no rival.
