I .ATTEST DAT KS FROM LIVKRI'OOX rt’NK 19. J.VTKST KATKS FROM HAVRJ FUNK 18. MACON, July 13. — Cotton. —We have no change note in this article since our last. We have not heard of any sales during the week. We quote extreme at 10 all cents. Flour brings readily £3 per cwt. Cnrn 45 to 50 rts. per bushel. Bacon, hog round, 8 a 8£; Hams 10 a 104. CHARLESTON, July 15.— ('otfon. —Sales yes terday about 800 hags I pland, at former prices— ranging from K g a IljJ. Nothing done in Rice. NEW Cotton. —Arrived | s’nee the 2d instant, 862 bales. Cleared in the same time 17,081 bales—making a reduction in stock of 1b,210 hales, and leaving on hand, inclusive i>t ail on ship board not cleared on the Oth instant, a stock of 120,792 hales. Ju our report of Saturday last, the ,3d instant, we had occasion to notice the existence of a very fair 1 demand for Cotton, the concession in prices having ; brought forward buyers, principally for England, I who. together with shipments on planter’s account, relieved the market during the week of some 25.- <*oo hales. This redaction of stock, and the claim ot shipmasters for some advance in the rates of j freights, checked business on Saturday, and since then tin* market has not exhibited any considera ble degree of activity, the daily sales having scarce ly averaged 15(H) bales. Indeed during the past two days the sales have barely amounted to 700 bales, the near approach of later European ac counts inclining parties to await their receipt be fore proceeding further in their operations. The rainy weather, too, is an obstacle to activity, as it interferes materially with the receiving and ship ping. The entire sales of the week may be put down at 8500 bales, taken mostly for England, with some parcels for France and the Continent, and prices have been steadily maintained at about the range of our quotations of Saturday last, which we therefore continue. The demand has been con fined almost exclusively to Louisiana and Mississip- ' pi Cottons. Alahanias and Tennessee*, which form I tie bulk of the stock, being still Comparatively neg lected. March 18 14.1 GRISWOLD'S IMPROVED COTTON GINS. rjIHE subscriber vHll continue thfe manufacture A of GINS on his usual extensive scale; and embraces this opportunity to thank his numerous customers for their liberal patronage heretofore.— The estimation in which his Gifts ftrfe held hiny be known from the fact of his having sb‘ld rftorfe than two thousand within the last three yfedrs; probably ten to one over any other factory in the State.— This evidence of the superiority of his Gins, is ac counted for, by his being the first to introduce the late improve uents, and keeping the lead, by vfear ly adding new ones. His first and second improve ments, made the quality of cotton perfect, though some were rather slow, his third made them suffi ciently fast, it then only remained to make them more durable and convenient, which has been done effectually, by several new improvements the pre sent year; besides, he has the exclusive right of the State, and the privilege of other sections, to furnish Reed’s Patent Water Boxes, witich are believed to be ten times more durable than any other, by those who have made a fair trial of them, and are infalli bly secure against fire by firiction. His fine Gins, will gin Mastodon Cotton as well as any Saw Gin can. His agents will visit planters generally, and exhibit specimens of his late improvements, and jioint out their advantages, in time, for all to en gage, and be supplied before next ginning season, or, engagements can be made by letter, directed to him at Clinton, Jones county, Georgia. Gins, will be delivered at the purchaser’s residence in any part of the State, except the Cherokee counties, where they will be left at the Rail Road depot, most convenient to the purchaser.
