Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry. Has the great Author of Nature provided us with no remedy for Consumption—and the diseases leading thereto which are so fearfully common in our country? Has He left us to find relief from that fatal scourge by ransacking other lands? No, it is not so. Ihe best—Nature’s own remedy, is ready at our hand. The Wild Cherry and the I ine furnish us with a cure, where a cure is possi ble. Dr. \N istar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, formed by chemical extracts from Wild Cherry bark and tar, relieves all cases of consumption, and effectu ally cures it where it has not progressed so far as to be beyond cure—subdues the most inveterate cases of the Asthma, even of 39 and 40 years stand ing—stops raising of blood, after other remedies fail—and removes every kind of affection of the Lungs and Liver which our climate induces. The remarkable efficacy of this wonderful medicine, in many diseases hitherto deemed incurable, has ex cited among physicians great curiosity as to the precise nature of its ingredients. Let purchasers beware of imitations and counterleits. None genuine unless signed 1. BUTTS on the wrapper. For sale in Augusta, wholesale a>d retail, bv HA VILAND. The curative inlluence of Sarsaparilla in cases of acuta and chronic rheumatism, has only recently been observed and acknowledged. It was long thought that preparations of the root could only be used successfully in scrofula and disease of that class} but the beneficial effects which have resulted from administering Sands’ Sarsaparilla in the most inveterate cases of rheumatism, have completely exploded that idea. Colchicum was for a long time considered a specific: but it has been demonstrated that this dangerous medicine in many instances causes the metastasis or translation of the complaint to the heart. This fatal result it is the direct ten dency of Sands’ Sarsaparilla to prevent, by purify ing the blood, through which alone disease can be conveyed to the seat of life, from all its impurity. For further particulars and conclusive evidence of its superior value and efficacy, see pamphlet which may be obtained of agents, gratis. Prepared and sold, wholesale and retail, A. B. &. D. MOBILE. Sept. 22.— Cotton. —Our last review left the market in a very quiet state, with a dis crepancy between the views of holders and buyers that seemed irreconciable and prevented all operations. This state of things continued only one day after our issue. On Thursday holders gave evidence of a disposition to meet the views of pur chasers. and sales to the extent of five or six hun dred hales were made at a decline of f a ijc. on our ast week's figures. Since that time a fair busi ness for the season has been doing. The sales of the week sum up about 2100 bales, and the mar ket seen.s pretty well established at the decline noticed above, and we give our quotations accord ingly. The purchases of the week have been principally for foreign- account. Os the new crop the rccepts are yet very light—not exceeding 300 to 40 J barns—the quality of which is very unpromis ing. It is exceedingly trashy, of bad color, and badly ginned—the effect no doubt, of the heavy rPins of the sulhincr, and premature picking. The favorable last two weeks will how ever, tend greatly to iihprove the quality. 1.1 VF.RPOOI. CLASSIFICATION. Good and fine...*.. .v... .• ..nominal. <food 1air....... . ...• ..-nominal. The Growing Crop. — We have hail another 1 week of favorable weather lor tile -cotton crop, and, from the fact that we have recei-veii but little information Irom the cotton growing region during the past week, we are induced to believe it is ex erting a favorable influence. The worm has un doubtedly done much injury, but we are inclined to the opinion that its ravages have been less des tructive than last year, and are now nearly Over for the season. But, under the most favorable auspices—with late frosts and dry weather during the entire fall—it will be impossible, we think to viake even an average crop. It has been, dlinng. The whole season, very backward, and the heavy rains that h.ive continued from the time of plant ing to the first of the present month, halve done an in jury which the most favorable weather during the remainder of the season cannot repair.
