COLUMBIA, Sept. 28.— Cotton. —The receipt of Cotton has been somewhat larger during the past week, with but little change in price. Sales amount t 0253 bales, at prices ranging from 9$ to 1 principal sales at a 1 Ij|. The receipts of ne w < 'otton amount to 86 bales. MOBILE, Sept. 25.— Cotton. —Received since this day week 552 bales—exported during the same time 3312, as follows—ls3l to Liverpool, 1358 to Boston, and 460 to New York, leaving the stock on hnad and on ship board not cleared last evening, 17,- 133 bales,against 6,481 same time last year,and 2,418 Lite year before. Our last review left the market quiet, with a light business doing—middling cotton were quoted at 11 cents. We have again to report another week of moderate sales—the entire transactions not much exceeding those given in our last—say, some 16 a 1800 bales, with a more regular and steady mar ket. In prices we have but little change to notice. Tlie advices by the French steamer Union, have hid no influence upon the rates in this market.— The lower grades are slightly in favor of buyers this week, while the higher qualities, which are more sought after and relatively scarce, maintain a better value. The purchases have been partly for England, but principally for the northern shipment. Our quotations are given in accordance with the sales. LIVERPOOL CLASSIFICATION. We cannot report any improvement in its appearance—the management of it being worse than anv that has come to market for some years previous. It is evident from its appearance, that it has been <>Dt out hastily, in a wet, green state, discolored and much injury in ginning. We hope the second pick ing will be better, the weather having been much more favorable for that purpose, _ We have little to add to what we have heretofore given on the subject of the incoming crop. The weather with us for a week or two past has been dry and most suitable for getting our cotton. Much, however depends on the balanc of the season and the appearance of frost. It must be borne ein mind, so far as our own State is concerned, the mischief already done by along continanee of rain, no season, no matter how tavorable, can remedy. Freights The only transactions since our last in foreign is a bark taken for Liverpool at |d. Coast wise, a brig early in the week accepted freight for New York at $1 per bale. Subsequently a packet - on the berth for the same port made engagements at $1.50 per bale, and a brig put up for Boston with 1 a portion of her cargo engaged, obtained $2 per * bale. * NEW ORLEANS, Sept 23, P.
