Bronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broneho eele and cancerous alfections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases catty be removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague,. He does not wish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainty; and further, that lie has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only cure these diseases when formed, but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar ■class oi diseases, as well as that ot scrot idacmajoste S or of ala—King’s EviL This preparation has been used in numerous j cases of scrofula, King's Evil, and scrofulous swell ings, and always with the most decided success. Dropsical Swellings. This medicine increases the powers of digestion | excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all un natural enlargements are reduced. It imparts i tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering pains and nervous ;.ffections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for what pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some ©f the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cored by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. Cancer, An Interesting case cured by Jayne’s Alterative. In the spring of 1331, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about ‘again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards office years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprive her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear td lobe a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, eoth her parents having died of Pulmonary con humotion. The experiment was now made with shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin oyer and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hydriodate Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased altogether, and the ‘tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and continued gradually decreas ing' until every vestige of disease was removed.— Tile tumour in her left breast, and those in her l i"-lit exilla were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for four teenVears as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, as large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi ty. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time she commenced usino- this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the enlargement: and she has now r as smooth and pretty a neck as car lie found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer persons to her. For sale by WM. K, KITCHEN. sep 23 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia, BRUSHES. MUST those be who have Pulmonary Consump tion, or any affection of the Lungs, Liver or ! Chest, after reading the following letter, just re ceived from a most respectable inhabitant ol West chester County New York. Tahbytown, Aug. 9, 1844. Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to ex i press the gratitude which 1 feel towards you for , the interest you have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year 1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on my lungs; in a few months after, 1 commenced coughing and raising ; offensive matter, which smelt very bad. Having ! heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a coughs I tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the least effect on me. I then called in the best physicians in the place, who attended me a few months, but without success; I then saw an ad vertisement in one of the city papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I purchased three | bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets, but 1 could not perceive the least beneficial effect j from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in ’ I jury to me. Shortly after using it, I commenced raising blood in large quantities; 1 was taken down 1 sick and confined to the house for three months, ‘ during which time 1 lost my appetite and fell away - very fast; I was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis ! of New York, (one of the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no good. 1 again became 1 worse, and was confined to the house all last winter j and spring, and I gave up all hope of ever getting [ • any better, as 1 again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends 1 now gave up all hope of ray recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time I heard ’ | of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good for consumption, but 1 was like many others, and I was fearful that it might be a regular humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as I thought it ! could make me no worse. My brother then pur chsed a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N - Y., and - 5 | commenced taking it, and by the time I had used | one bottle full 1 could sleep all night, and in the morning 1 had an appetite for my breakfast. I still keep on taking it and find great benefit from it—the [ pain in my breast is entirely gone, and I raise no ? more blood. Within the last two months I have , ; gained in weight six pounds and much in strength -1 1 would therefore, advise all who have any affee tlon of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe ) jt to be the best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs or Liver. Should any one doubt the ! above statement relative to your valuable medicine, let him call on me, and I will convince him of its 1 virtues. Yours, respectfully, DE REV ERE. GALVANIC RINGS AND Magnetic Fluid. fTIHIS remarkable invention, which has received JL the almost universal approbation of the Medi cal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en tirely new application ot Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and Magnetic Machines, See., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the general mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ular intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im partial trial, to be decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical defect, that this new applica tion as projected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Mings answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in many other respects are more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Kings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, are confidently recommended in all disordrs which arise from an enfeebled or un healthy state of the nen oys or vital system, and those complaints are among the most painful and univer sal to which we are subject. They arise, without exception, to one single cause—a derangement of the Nervous system —and it was in these cases that other “ remedies ” having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judi cious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire success ill all cases of Rheumatism , acute or chronic, applying to the head, face or limbs: Gout, Tic- Dolnreux, Toothache, Bronchitis , Vertigo, Nervous or Sick Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses, Palsy, Epilepsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Ap poplexy, Stiffness of Joints, Spinal Complaints, Lum bago , Neuralgia, Xervovs Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Chest and Side, General Debil ity, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pepsia, whiph is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must he witnessed to be believed, and as a certain Preventive for the preceding complaints they are equally recommended. 'The Rings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of va rious ornamental patterns, and can he worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In fact the sensation is rather agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Beltl,’’ Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, Ac. In some cases of a very severe character, and of long standing the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress of dis ease and ultimately th restore health. The improv ed modification in the Galvanic Bells, Bracelets. entirely remedies this objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be obtained and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to be permanently re lieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, or any part of the body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces, art i used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or | affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Nervous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and sl Tiila r complaints. c t I ;<JSTIE’S magnetic fluid. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Strengthening the sys tem when debilitated by disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds, and in all affections of the Chest, generally, the Galvanic Strengthening Plas ter, will be found of great and permanent advantage. Which Purify the Jilood, and remove al corrupt ami vitiated humors, and unhealthy accumulations from j the body in a manner never before rivalled, and which yet produce no weakness or lassitude what ever, but on the contrary, tone the Stomach, and invigorate the constitution during the progress of i their operation. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills, in fact, unite those heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable qualities, Evacuation and Invinovation. for they are at the same time a STRENGTHEN ING PURGA TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. Ihe two paincipal ingredients in Dr. Le Roy's ! Pills are WILD CHERRY & SARSAPARILLA. I So prepared that each promotes the beneficial es- j feet of the other, the former strengthening, while I the latter, through its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity or lassitude of the the Diges tive Functions, and hence their operations are at tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills are the most active and search ing Medicine in existence. They at once attack the very root of Diseases, and their action is so prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, the patient is aware of their good effects. They not only operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, of which the Blood is formed, and this secures good blood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro- | duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a family medicine they have no rival.
