TTPON the petition of John Whitehead, James
wJ Whitehead and Samuel Dowse, alleging that i
on the thirtieth day of November eighteen hun
dred and forty, John Trowbridge executed to them
his certain mortgage deed whereby to indemnify (
and save harmless said petitioners, conveying two ,
certain notes, made bv said Trowbridge to Isaac
Bryan, dated on the 28‘h day of August. A. D.
eighteen hundred and forty-live, each for the sum
of eight hundred dollars, the one payable twelve
months and the other two years after date, signed
by said petitioners as securities, be conveyed to
said petitioners certain tracts or parcels ol land
lying and being in said county of Richmond, the ■
one being in the neighborhood known as Richmond ]
Bath, containing twelve acres more or less, bound
ed north by lands of James Whitehead, west by ,
lands of Joshua Key, and south aud southeast by ,
the Bath tract. ,
AUo, two tracts conveyed by said John Trow- ,
bridge by Isaac Bryan and described as f< Hows, to
wit: “All those two tract* or parcels of land situ
ate. lyinv and being in the county of Richmond and
State of G-orgia, one containing twelve hundred
acres, more or less, on Spirit Creek, bounded north
by lands of John Cashin, deceased, east by lands of I
Absolom Rhodes, composed of two tracts, one of
one thousand acres, granted to J;.me* Beall, and
another of two hundred acres granted to James
Mc!M annt.
Also, all that other tract or parcel of land, situ-
ate in same county and State, containing fourteen
hundred and nearly two and three quarter acres, (
more or less, together with Mills and improvements t
thereon, and bounded east by lands, lately own
ed by the estate of Lowe, west by lands now t
nr lately owned by Forkerbery, south by lands ■
bcught by ouc John Cashin, Senior, now deceased,
oorth by lands belonging to Absolom Rhodes. And .
the said petitioners further alleging that the said
John Trowbridge has failed and neglected to pay
said notes and has become insolvent, and that they
the said petitioners have paid them and that there
is now due them on said notes the sum of eighteen I
hundred and forty dollars and fifteen cents, and
praying that the equity of redemption in and to
said mortgaged property may forever be foreclosed. -
It is ordered that the said John Trowbridge j
pay in to Court on or before the first day of the
next term, the principal and interest due on said t
mortgage, or shew cause why the Equity of Re- j
demption unto said mortgaged premises should not t
be forever barred and foreclosed against him; and t
farther, that a copy of this Rule be published in one
of the Garettes of the City of Augusta, once a
month for four months of served on the said John
Trowbridge or his special agent or attorney, and al
lowing three months before the first day of the
next term.

The Fourth part will give the statistics of the 1
counties arranged under the following heads, to wit; i
History of settlement, origin of the name, situation, 1
boundaries, soil, adaptation to particular products, i
towns, village*, rivers, creeks, mountain*, road*,
bridges, public places, prices of land, grain and la
bor, manufactures, schools, churches, customs, a- .
musementf, instances of remarkable longevity aud
short sketches of eminent men.
The Fifth part will consist of notices of the Abo
rigines of Georgia, taken fre-m the manuscripts of a
gentieman who for many years discharged the du
ties of Indian Agent.
The work will also contain rations Statistical ta
bles, relating to the commerce, population and
Revenue of the State of Georgia, illustrating its
means of progress and prosperity, compiled from
the most recent and authentic resources. A map
of the State will be appended to the work.
Conditions.—^ The work will be published in one
octavo volume, on good paper and with clear type,
about 700 pages, neatly bound in cloth. Price $3,
parable on ddivent.
