“HAVRE. OCT. 18.—-Our Cotton market is in a
very unsett led state; during; the last fortnight prices
have declined fully 7 to 8 fs.; sales are confined to
the daily absolute wants of the trade; consumption
shows a decrease of 111,0!Ml bales over the same
period ol last year. It is feared that prices have not
yet reached their lowest point. Fair Upland are
'quoted nominally from 87 aBB fs. Sales since Ist
inst, 7,300 bales, against 7,800 bales receipts ;
stock on hand 49,700 bales of ail sorts. Nothing

quality.”
CHARLESTON, Nov. 10.— Cotton. —The Cotton
market has been in a very depressed condition
since thejreccipf ofthe Caledonia’s advices. The
sales reach about 1,100 bales, ncaißi*J bales of
which were sold yesterday. Prices are a *|c
below those current prior to the arrival of these
advices, with a very unsettled market at the close
ol business. The operat ions have been at extremes
ranging from 7} to Bc. Fair quality at 7i| a Bc.
NEW YORK Nov. 6\\ M Cotton. —A few
hundred bales sold, for use, at .[:y£c. lb. decline,
but prices are not definitely ti.xcd.
Flour, I!XX.) straight new Michigan at $8.31; 1000
Gencssee at $8,50; Oswego sß,'2Ba ft, «Scc., prices
areßal'2 cts. down upon the news, but three is no
anxiety fortiie future.
WACOM, Nov. 11.— Cotton. —The market has
been exceedingly dull the present week, and few
tales have been made. \\ e quote to-day 7 a7.J.
MOBILE, Nov. 6.— Cotton. —The receipts for
the week ending on Friday, amount to 4,870 bales,
and cleared in the same time 975 bales for New
\ork, leaving the stock on hand and on shipboard
not cleared last evening 27,888 bales,against 10,827
last season, and 27,107 the year previous.
Our last review, owing to the disastrous intelli
gence Irom England, left the market in a very un
settled condition, and prices for middling closed at
7i a 7.J cents. On Saturday 400 bales were sol I,
and on Monday 800, without change in rate#. On
i uesday a more animated demand sprang up,
which resulted in the sale of 1200 bales—the mar
ket stiffening up towards the close of the day. On
W ednesday a still larger business was done, and
6ome 1500 bales changed hands, holders by their
great firmness and the lightness of the stock on
sale, realizing fully on the prices previously
prevalent. On the following day, owing to the al
- pretensions of factors, only 800 bales went
off at full rates, Friday (yesterday) scarce
ly any thing was done—one or two hundred bales
perhaps buyers having from their inability to
meet the advances claimed, withdrawn al
most entirely from the market. 'Towards the close
of the day, however, a better disposition to sell
was manifested on the part of some holders, but
no sales were effected, and we leave she market
dull. The sales of the week foot up 1500 bales.—
I he purchases about the middle of the week were
made chiefly for the French market. English and
American buyers operated but sparingly.
