must he given in a public Gazette SIXTY DAYS pre
vious to the day of sale.
Salas of NEGROES must be at Public Auction, on the
first Tuesday of the month, between the usual hours o
sale, at the place of public sales in the county where
the Letters Testamentary, or Administration, or Guar
dianship, may have been granted, first giving SIXTY
DAY’S notice thereof, in one of the public Gazettes o
this State, and at the door of the Court House where
such sales are to be held.

in like manner FORTY DAYS previous to day of sale

TTTPON the petition of John Whitehead, James
I.J Whitehead and Samuel Dowse, alleging that
on the thirtieth dayvff November eighteen hun
dred and forty, John Trowbridge executed to them
his certain mortgage deed whereby to indemnify
and save harmless said petitioners, conveying two
certain notes, made by said Trowbridge to Isaac
Bryan, dated on the 28th day of August, A. D.
eighteen hundred and forty-five, each for the sum
of eight hundred dollars, the one payable twelve
months and the other two years after date, signed
by said petitioners as securities, he conveyed to
said petitioners certain tracts or parcels ol land
lying and being in said county of Richmond, the
one beingin the neighborhood known as Richmond
Bath, containing twelve acres more or less, bound
’ ed north by lands of James Whitehead, west by
lands of Joshua Key, and south and southeast by
the Bath tract.
Also, two tracts conveyed by said John Trow
bridge by Isaac Bryan and described as f- Hows, to
> wit; “All those two tracts or parcels of land situ
ate, lying and being in the county of Richmond and
’ State of Georgia, one containing twelve hundred
acres, more or less, on Spirit Creek, bounded north
by lands of John Cashin, deceased, east by lands of
Absolom Rhodes, composed of two tracts, one of
i one thousand acres, granted to J raes Beall, and
another of two hundred acres granted to James
McManns.
Also, all that other tract or parcel of land, situ
ate in same county and State, containing fourteen
f hundred and nearly two and three quarter acres,
more or less, together with Mills and improvements
’ thereon, and bounded ea.st by lands, lately own
ed by the estate of Lowe, west by lands now
• nr lately owned by Forkerbery, south by lands
hr ught by one John Cashin,Senior, now deceased.

the said petitioner* further alleging that the said
John Trowbridge has failed and neglected to pay
s said notes and has become insolvent, and that they
the said petitioners have paid them and that there
" is now due them on s&id notes the sum of eighteen
hundred and forty dollars and fifteen cents, and
* praying that the equity of redemption in and to
said mortgaged property may forever be foreclose.!.
1 It is ordered that the said John Trowbridge
pay in to Court pn or before the first day of the
* next term,the principal and interest due on said
mortgage, or shew cause why the Equity of Re
■? demption unto said mortgaged premises should not
n be forever barred and foreclosed against him; and

of the Gazettes of the City of Augusta, once a
