OBITUARY.
Died, on the 6th December, 1847, William
Henry Sharpe, in the 22d year of his age, after
a protracted illness.
•To multiply words by passing encomiums upon
the dead is wholly unnecessary, yet a/proper re
gard for their memory induces us to pay to them
this last tribute of respect. 1 * '
departed one can reap no benefit by ought
we can say ot him, yet the living may draw useful
lessons from the lile he led. He was a victim of
disease—-a child of misfortune., yet he was resigned i
to the will ot Him who ordereth all things well.
His prayer was “Look upon my atiliction ami .fain ■
and forgive all my sins,” and we believe a kind
Providence has answered it. A kind, sympathiz
ing heart, a mrinttwriit of every Christian virtue
has fallen, yet hi£mfemnry will be cherished by all
who knew •km',.
W"e'Avitßcssed-liis last moments —ealm and con
scious of approaching dissolution, he bade adieu t > J
earth without a struggle. No murmur in atiliction,
I no struggle in death ! “Blessed is the man unto
’whom the Lord imparteth not iniquity and in !
•whose spirit there is no guile.”

There has been a veritable panic in Wall-street to

below. With the exception of Beading Bonds,
them has been a very material decline in every

MOUNT EAGLE TRIPOLI.
A REMARKABLE mineral, pronounced by
geologists to be a great rarity in nature and
to them by the name of Tripoli, has lately
been discovered in this country, although but in one
died, of very narrow limits, all owned by the “Mount
Eagle Manufacturing Company,” incorporated for
-the sole purpose of its manufacture.
The article is excellent for burnishing and clean
ing all finished metallic and glass surfaces, such as
,go|d, silver, brass, Britannia and steel ware, win
dow glass, Ac. Nothing has ever yet been discov
ered equal to the ; pure Tripoli, and the common
language of the consumer is, it is the best thiugl
ever saw. The genuine article is for sale by the
,-exclusive agent for Augusta. WM. HAINES.

DR. CHRISTIE’S
MEDICAL GALVANISM,
Seize upon Truth where’er’t is found
Among your friends, among your fees;
On Christian or on heathen ground.
The flower’s divine where’er it grows.
IN the mysterious powers of Galvanism we have
to wrestle solely with facts, and in their ap
plication to medical science, faejs the most aston
ishing are exhibited. Diseases which have been
considered beyond the reach of medicine, and
j have balib'd the best directed efifer’s of physicians,
.are found toyueld quite veadily to tlie astonishing
i efficacy of this wondrous agency. An efficient
and convenient mode of application has long been
desired, though but lately attained, and this has
.been done by the beautiful invention of DR.
CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS, BELTS,
BRACELETS, and other appliances which are
: adapted for peculiar diseases, to any part of
the system with the most perfect safety and
ertainty of success. By these means the most
severe andprotructed cases of Rheumatism, Head
; ache, Dyspepsia, Spinal Cotnp/aints, Fils, Cramps,
Neuralgia, and all Nervous Diseases, are readily
arrested in their course, and very often perfectly
cured.
[LFCaution. —The great celebrity and success
of Dr. Christie’s Galvanic and Magnetic Curatives,
has caused them to be counterfeited by unprinci
