UR. CIIIIISTIE’S
GA L V A NIC RINGS
AND
31 AGNETIC FLUID.
rO3HIS remarkable invention, which has received the
JL almost universal approbation of’the medical pro
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new up
i plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
j which the ordinary Galvanic 15a terms, BlectricandMug
i netic Machines, «fcc., are entirely dispensed w ith, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
ol the objections which are inseperable from the pene
; ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma
| chines, lias been pronounced, as era fair and impartial
trial, to be decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy
; this radical defect, that this new application was pro
! jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has
been brought to its present slate of periection. The
| Galvanic Kings answer all the purposes of the most
| expensive Machines, and in many other respects are
more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired
i effect.
i The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the
| Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all
D SORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN
HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, alld
these complaints are among the most painful and uni
versal to which we are subject. They arise, w itlioutex
ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the
Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other
“ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has
been found in the proper and judicious application of
Galvanism.
The Galvanic Rings have been used with entiresuc
! cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap
j plying to the head, face or limbs; Gout, Tic-Doloreux,
Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick
H eadache, Indigestion. Paralyses, Palsy, Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexy,
Stiffness if Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kumbago,
Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the
Head. Pains in the Chest and Side, General Debili
ty, Deficif.ncy of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of
the digestive organs, they hav c been found equally suc
cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must be witnessed to be believed, and us a certain pre
ventive for the preceding complaints they are equal
ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices,
being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat
i terns, and ran be worn by the inostdelirate female without
the slightest inconvenience, la fact the sensation is
; rather agreeable than otharwise.
The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bauds,
Garters, Necklaces, Arc.
In some cases of a very severe character and of long
, standing the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings
i is not sufficient to arrestthe progress of disease and ulti
mately to restore health. The improv ed modification in
the Galvan c Bf.lts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme
j dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
] can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the
■ mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail lobe
i permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the
waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body
j with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces
j are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or
j affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Ner
i vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
I preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar
complaints.
Christie's Magnetic Flo id.
Isissued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition lias been pro
j nouuced by the French Chemists to be one of the most
extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be
lieved to possess a remarkable power of renderiiig the
Nerves seusitive toGalvaiiic actioii, by these means
causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis
ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No
other composition in chemistry is known to produce the
same effector to impart a similar property to the nervous
system by means of an outward local application. The
Magnetic Fluid contains not hi up capable of tbeslipht
eat injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tions and directions accompany it. The combined in
ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are
at prices within reach of all, and tt:e discoverer only re
quests a fair trial, as a lest of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas
ters.
These articles form another valuable application of
the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an
important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiiic Riticsand
their modifications, acting upon the same principle, Bui
h i ving this advantage of more local appliea ion. They
are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in
the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in
! all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy incases
| of Pain and Weakness in the Chest or Back, Pain in the
j Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op
pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Corn
; plaints; their effects are of the most decided character,
and they have often been used with c.omplct* success.
They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and
Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended
for many of those complaints lo which leinales are
I especially liable. As an effectual means for .* lengthen
ing the system when debilitated with disease or other
! causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a
Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest
generally the Galvanic Streugt! ening Plaster will he
1 found of greatand pernianeniadvantage. In a few words,
it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation
1 with the important addition of the Galvanic, influence,
i which is neither impaired or exhausted, whilcthe action
I continues. These articles will be found entirely free
; from those objections which urea constant source of com

‘ HOW AWFULLY CULPABLE,
' | TO NEGLECT USING THE GENUINE
Dir TAYLOR’S BALSA3I OF LIVERWORT.
375 Bowery, N. Y.
MUST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption,
or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest,
| ■ aLcr reading ilie following letter, just received from a
must respectable inhabitant of Westchester County
i New York.
Tarrytown, A tig. 9, 1 a 44,
’, I Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the
! gratitude which I fuel towards you for the interest you
have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year
1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
my lungs; in a few months after 1 commenced coughing j
’ and raising offensive matter, which smell very bail. 1
Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a
’ cough I tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the !
1 j least effVct on me. I then called in the best physician iu the j
’ place, whoa'tended me a few months, but without sue i
[ cess; I then saw an advertisement in one of the city
i p.ipersof Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which 1
! purchased three bottles, at thecorncr of Fulton and Nas
. sail streets, but 1 could not perceive tne least beneficial
1 effect from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a grsat in
jury to me. Shortly after using it 1 commenced raising
blood in large quantities; 1 was taken down sick and
confined to the liouac for three months, during which
lime I lost my appetiic and fell away very fast; I was
then induced to consult Dr. Curtisof New York, (one of
the best physicians in the city,) but lie could do me no (
good. I again become worse, and was confined to the j
house all last winter and spring, and I gave up all hope of i
ever gelling any better, as ( again raised blood and my I
cough was verj’ severe, together with a pain iu my breast I
and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up i
all itopcof my recovering, and thought every day was j
the last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF 1
; LIVERWORT being good for consumption , but I was
: like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu
lar humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as I
thought it could make me no worsts. My brother tli» n
purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V.. and I coni
i meiiced taking it, and by the tinu* 1 had used one bottle I
full 1 could sleep all night, and in the morning 1 had an
, appetite for my breakfast. Istili keep on taking il and
find great benefit from it—the pain in my breast is entire
ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the lasl two
months 1 have gained in weight ,-ix pounds ami much in '
strong h. I would therefore advise all who have any '
affec ion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. !
Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to !
reme.dy in existence for diseases of the Lungs
| or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement re
lative to your valuable medicine, let him call on me, and
; I will convince them ofits virtue.
Yours respectfully, C. DE REVERE.

BAILEY’S HIGHLY CONCEN
TRATED COMPOUND FLUID
EXTRACT OF SARSAPARILLA.
THIS preparation of Sarsaparrilla, is in most cases,
found to be preferable to the Syrups, on account
i of not creating acidity of the Stomach, which the sac
charine matter contained in the Syrup, is apt to do,
where its use has been long continued. The Fluid Ex
t tract effectually obviates this difficulty; and may be used
for any length of time, with increased benefit.

PSOGHESSSVS POWER COTTON
if* MVL j®a* •
THIS Machine is now offered to the public as
the most durable, the most convenient, the
most powerful, (and all things considered,) tli*
chenjrest and best Cotton Packing Press in the
World.
This Press has now been in use four years—sev
eral hundreds of them are in successful operation.
In one that has been in use about two years,
there has been packed, freer five thousand Pales of
Colton ! anti it works belter (if possible) now, than
when first put up. Not one dollar has been ex
pended on it in r-pairs—nor ever will be, if well
, used.
All those persons who have tried them, have de
cided to keep them their life time, and then hand
; them down to their children to the third and fourth
generations. Not an individual that has seen them
: in use but w hat pronounces them “ 'just the thing.’ 1
1 challenge the world to disprove these state
ments. Now, can as much be said of any other
Machine ever made? And yet Igo still further;
w hen required, I will put up the Press on the plan
tation, and if it does not answer the purpose, will
make no charge.
And again—being well aware that the planter*
have but little confidence iti new things, from the
fact that nine out of ten are *' Yankee tricks,” in
tended to deceive, I have been to the trouble and
, expense to fit up an establishment in Macon, with
several Presses, fur re-packing Round Bales into
| Square, and to show to the planters that the Press is
just the thing they want. These Presses are mow,
. and will be kept in daily use, and open to inspec
tion. Now, therefore, to induce the planter to
! make an examination, 1 give below ? a certificate,
i signed by a few of the many who have very kindly
i offered me their names, since I started my Presses
; in Macon.
I To prevent bad work, and all sort of meddling
or tampering with the Machines, i have them au
made under my own direction, and sold at oneprice.
All those wishing to give them a trial, will please
i give their names to my Agents who call upon them,
j or send them to the Commission House, where
they wish to go for the Machine, in order that the
Agent may be prepared for them, otherwise they
may be delayed in getting a Machine w hen it i»
wanted.

LIVER AND. DYSPEPTIC
MEDICINE.
IN offering this valuable medicine to the people
of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis
eases incident to a southern climate, I do not claim
for it infalibility; neither do 1 say it will cure all
diseases. But in Chronic Liver Affections and Dys
pepsia, 1 can confidently advise and recommend its
use. from my personal observation and use of the
article in my own practice. This article is favora
bly received w lierever it has been used. lam al
lowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of Troup, Mr.
John Warren of Columbus, 3lr. McKaffee of Cobb,
Mr. Asbury Hull of Alliens, Mr. William D. Ter
rell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange;
to which a great number of names might be added,
; who bear their testimony to its value. Dr. Henry
Branham has used ibis medicine in his own case,
and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as hi*
opinion, that it is one of the safest and most \ alua
l ble medicines that can be used in imperfect diges-
I lion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular
slate of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com
plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers,
and in sick or nervous head-ache. To pregnant
women, who are subject to costiveness, this medi
! cine is well suited. In regulating the state of the
stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is
1 particularly useful.
1 1 could append a long list of certificates, but for
bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi
cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle
1 and certain cathartic, tonic and sudorific.
