and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as his
opinion, that it is one of the safest and most valua

PATENT MEDICINES.
UR. CHRISTIE'S
GALVANIC RINGS
AND
MAGNETIC FLUID.
THIS remarkable invention, which has received thd
almost universal approbation of the medical pro
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries. Electric and Mag
netic Machines, &c., are entirely dispensed w ith, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
of the objections w hich arb inseparable from the gene
ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma*
j chines, has been pronounced, as era fair and impartial
trial, tube decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy
this radical defect, that this now application was pro
jected, which after unceasing toil ami perseverance, baa
been brought to its pre.-ent state of perfection. Thu
Galvanic R»n»s answer all the purposes of the most
expensive Machines, and in many other respects am
more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired
effect.
The Galvvnic Rings, used in connection with the
Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all
DISORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN
HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, ami
these complaints are among the most painful and uni
versal to which we are subject. They arise, w ithout ex
ception, from one simple Cause—-a derangement of th«
Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other
“ remedies’’ having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, him
been found in the proper and judicious application of
Galvanism.
The Galvanic Kings have been n«ed with entire suc
cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap
plying tothe head, face or limbs : Gout, Ttc-Doloueux
Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick
Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexy,
Stiffness if Joints. Spinal Complaints, Hu mb ago.
Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness or the
Head, Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili
ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
! Dyspepsia, which is simply n nervous derangement of
the digestive organs, they have been found equally sne
i cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre
: vkntive for tiie preceding complaints they ore oqual
j ly recommended. The Bings are of different prices,
i being m.ole of all sizes, and of various 01 namental pat
terns, and can be worn by the mostdelicate female without
j the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is
I rather agreeable than otherwise.
! The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands,
Garters, Necklaces, «Src.
I a some cases of a very severe character and of long
standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings
is not sufficient to arresttiie progress of disease and ulfi
! mutely to restore houith. The improved modification in
tin; Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme
dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
can readily be obtained, and no complaint which tho
nn sterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to bo
permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to ihe,
i w aist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ibe body
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces
i are used wit h greater benefit in eases of Bronchitis or
affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Ner
vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar
i complaints.
Christie’s Masnoetic Fluid.
i Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most
extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be
lieved to pos.v ss a remarkable power of kenperiiig the
j Nerves skiisitivk to Galvaihc actioii, by these means
causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis
ease, and thus giving rapid ami permanent relief, So
1 othercoinposiuon in chemistry is known to produce the
i same effector to impart a similar property tothe ucrvnua
system by means of an outward local application. The
Magiietic Fluid contains nothing capable df the slight
est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tion:- and directions accompany it. The combined in
| ventionsare ia every way perfectly harmless; they are
at prices v\ iihin reach of ail, ami the discoverer only re
! quests a fair trial, ns a lust of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
! Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas*
teis.
These ar’irles form another valuable application of
the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an
i important adjunct to the genuine Galvaihc KiiiGsaml
their mod ideations, acting upon the same principle, hut
having this advantage of more local applica ion. They
} a ce confidently recommended as a valuable addition in
j the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic; iq
all nervous complaints.and as a positive remedy in ruses
of Pain and Weakness i the Chest or Back, Pain in the
Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and m Weakness or Op
pression of tho Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com
plaints: their effects are of the most decided character,
I ~nd they have often been used with complete success,
I They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains ami
Weak ness of the Breast, and are highly recommended
■ for many of those complaints 10 which inmates ore
especially liable. As an effectual means for Mrengthen
ing the system when debilitated with disease or other
causes ; as a ccitain aid ill Constitutional VV eakneas. as a
Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest
1 generally the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster will he
found ot great and peraianenlad vantage. I n a few words,
I it embraces all the virtues* of the best lonic preparation
with tile imp rtant adifition of the Galvanic influence,
which is neither impaired or exhausted, wiiilethe action
continues. Thus artn les will he found entirely free
from tlmse objection* which are a constantsource of com
i plaint, wilbiheordinary Plastersin common use.
