gather with a list of Siockholders. Aa it will b;
noticed that there are not any bod or doubtful
debta mentioned in thin report, it may not be
improper to remark, that although thia hank waa
chartered in December 1836, yet it did not com
mence doing business with its own bills, until
November 1637— consequently it escaped many
of thoae difficulties which other bunks, fn full
operation, had to contend with during the late
alarming stale «l the monied affairs of the Conn,
try.

Cotton —There has been a lair demand for
cotton tins week, but the market hat. been dull,
nnd a decline of lulu id per lb has been sublimed
ko in the fair and middling qualities of American.
Sea Island remains firm ai former rates.
The sales ot tho week amount to 25,670 bales,
including 4,300 American on speculation, and
1600 American mid Uhl Snrai for export; 5130
American, 150 Egyptian and 250 Pernsm have
been forwarded into the country unsold, during
this month.

following descriptions, viz:
George, about 35 or 3(5 years
of age, of dark complexion, high

teeth is somewhat decayed.
Joe, about 28 nr 29 years of age, also dark
complexion, 5 feel 9 to il inches in height; of a
free open countenance, and speaks nimbly when
spoken to; no other particular marks recollected.
Nod, about 35 years ol ago, has a down cast
look, dark complexion, and of ordinary size.
The two first are .the properly of John Gresham
and the latter of K.m Gresham It is supposed
that limy will attempt to nuke their way to Augus
ta, and perhaps from that place, by the So ('a
Kail Koad,to Charleston. Sixty dollars reward
will he given for their apprehension, and confine
ment in any sale jail or delivery to their owners, or
to Egbert If Beal, in Augusta. A reward of $5O
will begiven for either of them.
