be made when the second payment is made. Good
and sufficient security will bo required fur the
amount of the rmich .se money.
There will also ho sold at the same lime and
place, four negroes, viz. George, Plenty, Jack and
J’hillis ; the negroes may be bought at private sale

of Iho Georgia Railroad, between Greensboro and

The ties must boos the best post or white oak
limber, free from all material defects, exactly 8 feet
long, (with squared ends,) and not less than 12 inch
es in diameter. They will be divested of their
bark, and reduced to 9 or U1 inches in thickness,
(when seasoned,) by hewing on otv* side lo a bear-'
ing surface of at least 9 inches, and on the other 6
inches.
The ties when inspected, will be plied by the
contractor according to directions of the Engineer,
and at such points on the side of the road as lie
may designate.
All pi 'ces 71- inches thick, nnd otherwise under
size that will answer to go in the road, will bo re
coil od at half price.
