A Serenade Song.
Awake from thy dresms, love,
'J'he moon ahines, awake I
How sweetly she beams, love,
OVr river anil lake ;
Does not nature to-night, love,
Her swecest garb wear?
Ami yet all is bright, love,
Because thou url here.
The round drops o< dew, love,
Like diamonds gleam ;
How tine is the view, love,
Os mountain and stream.
Yet the view would, tho’ line, love.
Unnoticed appear,
And the drops would nut shine, love,
Unless thou wort here.
Let us look to the morrow,
Wnb hearts light as air,
And tho’ it bung sorrow,
We will not despair ;
Anri could’sl ihon forever
Be near me loehr if,
1 would say with rejoicing,
iftill thou, love art heir.
