inchi ling his original style of Flower Painting and
Pencil Drawing. India Finishing, Fruit and Marine
Painting, sket'hing from nature. &c.
Mr. H. has a number of specimens from his own
pencil, which he will he happy to exhibit In all who
will favor him with a visit. He has devoted much
time to his collection of materials, studies, designs,
Ac. His pupils will therefore have the advantage
of the best subjects for the pencil, also the use of
many valuable elementary works and essays upon
the art.
His object will he to convoy a thorough and prac
tical knowledge of the study ; not a superficial ac
quaintance with the theory of the subject, which
will eventuate merely in the execution of a / w
pretty things. His design will be to make his pupils
Artists, which he hopes, with application on theii
part, to accomplish. He will exert himself to please
the lovers of the arts who honor him with their
patronage, and he doubts not. that many in this city,
will eagerly devote a little time to the attainment of
a knowledge of so enchanting an art.
A term consists of two months instruction —the
first course commencing on Thursday, 20th inst., be
fore which time it is desirable that pupils should en
ter their names.
