C CLASSICAL AND ENGLISH SCHOOL.-
y Mr. Norcross would respectfully inform the
citizens of Augusta that he has associated with him
in his school, Mr. Howey, a graduate of Jefferson
College, Pa., and for the last si* years an instructor
of youth. In consequence of this arrangement an
additional number of pupils, of both sexes, can be
accommodated. The School will now consist of
two departments. The Classical and Mathematical
will be under the superintendence of Mr. H., who
will teach the Latin and Greek languages—Algebra,
Geometry, Surveying, Mensuration, &c. The oth
er branches will be taught as heretofore.
The following certificates from Professors Stuart
and Twiss, of South Carolina College, relative to
Mr. H.'s scholarship, arc respectfully submitted:

the Subscriber, in Orangeburg district, S.
C. on the 4th of March lasi, a Negro Man by the
name ol GLASCOU, and his wife KATEY—Glaa
cou is about 23 years of age, about five feet nine or
10 inches high, dark complexion, round face, mid
dling full eyes, a good set of teeth, and no beard—he
is_a stout and likely negro. Kale, his wife, is about
26 years of age, a good sized wench, a shade lighter
than Glaseou, has a scar on one cheek, tolerable full
eyes, good teeth and rather small mouth, and a little
inclined to thick lips. Since they left me, they
were apprehended and confined in the jail ot Jeffer
son county, Georgia, and escaped from the said jail
on the slh day ol December, 1836—1 was informed
by the latlor in said county, that the wench Katey
was far gone in pregnancy at the lime ol her escape.
I will give the above reward of One Hundred Dot
tars for the delivery of said Negroes to me in Orange
burg District, South Carolina, or Fifty Dollars lor
their apprehension and confinement in any jail in
the State of Georgia, so that I can get them. My
residence is about 2 miles distant from BranchvHle,
. on the Rail Uoad,ni Orangeburg district.
