The Sweet S^rinss.
t T HESE Springs, so long and so advantageous
_L ly known to the public, having passed into
tiie hands of the proprietor are now in complete re
pair lor thp I’cceptiop of visitors. The old build
lyings have all been rofttled in a neat and -comfortable
manner, and other extensive improvements are be
ing put up The Baths have been entirely rebuilt,
with two large and commodious dressing rooms,
jvhich willcontrtoute greatly to the com'ort and
convenience of those who delight in so luxurious
an indulgence. Tito Proprietor deems it almost
superfluous to say any thing of their medicinal
iqualities, as the lest of sixty years experience has
placed them beyond the reach Os cavil—and, there
fore, will only mention those diseases in which
their virtues have been most conspicuous. They
have been found highly beneficial in all inflammato
ry diseases ofthe murous membrane, lining the sto
mach, and alimentary canal vs. dyspepsia, acute
pud chronic diarrhote, Ac. In incipient heptatis,
and in ull affections ol the kidneys, their virtues are
proverbial In those diseases o debility, arising
: from irregularity, deficiency or obstruction of the
.uterine system, they stand unrivalled Much hav
ing been said to thoir detriment of their highly stim
ulant properties, tho Proprietor deems it advisable
. to adduce one of the cases which came under the
. Observation of hundreds last summer, and which
, * .will entirely refute any such objection
A distinguished citizen of Virginia having had a
severe stroke of paralysis, by which ha lost the an
tire use of one ha,lf (if, Ins body, and having visited
#•] these Springs for thirty years, determined, to try
?■ ' thcirrflicucy in Lis case. He was brought to the
place upon slitter, and, after the internal use of the
waters u lew days, was placed in the Bath, and at
ter two months furlher use, he regained the power
; of volition, and left iho Springs able to walk with
' j out assistance.
