Wo published on Friday last, the report of the capture of the Philadelphia packet ship Susque hanna, by pirates, since which time slips by the northern express mail have teemed with reports upon the subject, but yet furnishing no positive evidence of the fact or any positive contradiction of it. There seems to ho evidence enough that such a vessel as the one supposed to be the pirate, has been olf the espes of Delaware—hut whether she be really a pirate or not, is the question! The following information from the Philadelphia Com mercial Herald slip, is the latest we have from the North! THE PIRATE —Capl. Hamilton, ofthe ship Florida, Iro n Valparaiso, si New York on Wed nesday reports that on Monday night at 10 o’clock within eight miles of liareuget light, saw a long low black schooner running off and on with a light wind from 8, S. E.—passed under her stern, and about 12 o'clock hauled his wind and steered for land. The Florida looks like a ship of war, and the pirate may have been afraid to k raid her.
