These meetings are open to members and non members so that businesses and community partners have a platform to connect. These series were created to educate our membership on pertinent business topics that impact how we do business, and expose our members to greater Atlanta’s top executives, in addition to local and state leaders. This year we are excited to kick off 2015’s General Membership Meetings with the highly revered Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Chris will share insights on this year’s legislative session to include topics on transportation, education, economic development, proposed House and Senate Bills, and post session decisions that will impact Georgians. Make sure you know what your Chris Clark business and community should be expecting in 2015-2016 from a state and regional policy perspective. As President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber, Clark keeps the organization focused on its number one priority-ensuring the competitiveness of the businesses and people of our state. Working hand-in-hand with the Chamber’s volunteer leaders, who represent companies of all sizes and industry from throughout the state, Clark has made the organization an even stronger advocate for Georgia both at the State Capitol and in Washington, DC, expanded investor services, and strengthened partnerships with local chambers of commerce and other key stakeholders. A Georgia native, Clark received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and his master’s degree in public administration from Georgia College and State University. Prior to joining the Chamber, he served as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Economic Development. Clark is currently Chair of the Council of State Chambers’ State Chamber Policy Center and sits on the boards of the Technical College System of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Governor’s Rural Development Council and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. Chris is a Trustee of Georgia Southern University and a member of the Board of Visitors for the University of Georgia. He is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and has been consistently named one of Georgia Trend magazine’s 100 most influential Georgians and by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the 100 most influential Atlantans. He was also honored to receive the Georgia Economic Developers Association Zell Miller Public Policy Leadership Award in 2013. Please contact the chamber for sponsorship and ticket opportunities.
