CLARKSTON Active shooter awareness class scheduled Clarkston Police Department is sponsoring an active shooter awareness class Jan. 23 at Clarkston Library at 951 North Indian Creek Drive in Clarkston. The class will begin at 6:30 p.m. and participants will be taught active shooter survival tactics and techniques. Other topics include Clarkston Police preparedness, law enforcement and first responder readiness and physical disaster response. Lt. Harry Hess will teach the class. DECATUR Admiration Lodge to host job fair Admiration Lodge No. 25 A.F. & A.M partnered with DeKalb County to host its fifth annual career fair and diversity job expo Jan. 16. Candidates are asked to come dressed in interview-appropriate attire, bring resumes, and be prepared to speak directly with employers. MLK celebration reaches 35th year DeKalb County will host a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration Jan. 28. The celebration marks the 35th time DeKalb has honored the civil rights activist. The annual celebration will be held at the Maloof Auditorium in downtown Decatur at 1300 Commerce Drive.
