Senior Ashley Oldshue,

combined for 48 points in the
Emory Eagles’ 70-52 win at
the University of Rochester
in its University Athletic
Association opener.
The win was Emory’s
eighth consecutive, and the
town improved its record to
10-2. Oldshue led all players
with 18 points. Chernow and
Ripley each scored 15 points.
After building a seven-
point lead at halftime, the
Eagles put some distance
between Rochester in the third
quarter with a 23-13 scoring
advantage that put Emory
ahead by a 53-39. Rochester
did manage to draw to within
12 points with 3:45 left in the
game, but buckets by junior
Lindsey Tse and Ripley,
followed by a pair of free
throws by Chernow, allowed
Emory to be the victor.
Emory ended the game
shooting 50 percent both
from the field (26-of-52) and
three-point range (5-of-10)
while limiting Rochester to
31.3 percent (20-of-64) from
the floor. This was the 11th
consecutive game in which
the Eagles shot better from the
floor than the opposition.
Emory outrebounded
Rochester 44-30 with Ripley
leading the effort on the glass
with 10 rebounds. Tse doled
out seven assists and ranked
second on the team with eight
rebounds, while Erin Lindahl
added nine points.
