us because they don’t know what we have, but I’m definitely
expecting a lot,” he said. “Our region is competitive, I’m
expecting my guys to compete and look for us to be there at the
end.”
Stephenson is heading into the season with a new coach for
the first time in 10 years after Tim Jones replaced retired coach
Marco Jackson. Jones, who was an assistant under Jackson,
credits Jackson with preparing him for this position.
“[Jackson] definitely helped shaped me to get me ready for
this position,” Jones said. “I think the only thing I can really add
[to the program] is a little bit more consistency and try to change
the culture here at Stephenson. We’re looking to reach our goals,
as far as winning the region, and getting all of my guys into
college.”
Southwest DeKalb will have a large senior class this season.
