Sex and Jewish tradition
Israel Bonds and Congregation Bet
Haverim host a discussion on "sex in
the Tanach, consent, communication,
and maximizing pleasure in sexual
encounters. This event will feature an
engaging and enlightening presentation
from Jewrotica, as well as a lively
conversation on Jewish tradition." Ayo
Oppenheimer is the guest speaker.

Congregation Bet Haverim, 2074 LaVista

Guided meditation class
Free one-hour guided meditation
classes are scheduled for 10:30-11:30
a.m. Aug. 10 and 11 at Dharma Jewel
Monastery. For more information, call

Mindfulness practice class
Shallowford Presbyterian Church hosts
a five-week Mindfulness & Contemplative
Practice Class from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning
Aug. 20. The intention of the course is
"to cultivate our capacity for deep listen
ing and genuine connection." The class
is described as being for anyone open
to exploring contemplative practice and
meditation. The class runs through Sept.
17. Classes will be held at the church,
2375 Shallowford Rd., Atlanta. Tuition is

Confession, Mass and brunch
University Catholic Center at Emory
University holds confession at 8:30 a.m.
followed by Mass at 9 a.m. and com
munity brunch at 10 a.m. every Sunday.
