seconds into the video, the entertainers
throw an unspecified amount of money
into the air, causing multiple screaming
students to rush the basketball court to
collect the money.
While the students collected money,
Caldwell allegedly punched a student.
According to DCSD officials,
McNair administrators were not aware
that one of its teachers invited the rapper
to the school event.
“DCSD police are aware of the
incident at McNair High School
concerning [Caldwell] and consider this
an active investigation,” said DCSD
officials in a statement.
The entertainers were not hired or
compensated for thier performance and
the school’s normal security plan was
in place during the pep rally, according
to DCSD officials. The security plan
includes all staff being assigned to entry
and exit locations in the gym, where the
pep rally was held.
DCSD maintains that student and
staff safety is among the district’s top
priorities and said any disciplinary
action toward DCSD employees will be
handled as a personnel matter.
