Actions speak louder than words
In relationships of all sorts, from
personal to professional and including
elected officials, we often hear or read
encouraging comments that are meant to
impress the person who is on the receiving
end of such comments, but in reality, one’s
actions are much more indicative of the
character of that person.
We must learn to look beyond the
glorified words and delve into the actions
of a person before we truly begin to have
a clear picture of who and what a person
really is. This is particularly true of many
elected officials.
As pre-election rhetoric amps up over
the next few months, we will be inundated
with messages specifically crafted to
impress or influence the electorate and
portray candidates in the most favorable
way possible. However, we must look
beyond the paid messages and look at
voting records and actions of candidates
before we begin to have an accurate
assessment of the individual.
We encourage our readers to conduct
their own research on candidates and
carefully assess the candidate’s actions
rather than basing a decision as important
as voting on messages that are meant to
positively influence.
Most of us have been told all our lives
that actions speak louder than words and
at no time is this more important to keep
in mind than when choosing those who
should be representing our best interests.
