DeKalb County continues to
monitor the COVID-19 emer
gency and has the technology
to conduct the calendar virtu
ally. Lead counsel must ap
pear virtually for the pretrial
conference. All parties shall
contact the Court via email to
the Civil Case Manager, Na-
keya Burton (nlburton1@dekal-
bcountvaa.aovl. by April 19.
2024. for further instructions re
garding proceeding with the
Hearing using the Zoom applic
ation. Counsel must include
ALL parties on any email cor
respondence with the Court.
All cases should expect to be
reached during the week of tri
al. Cases may be called out of
order as scheduling demands.
Parties will be specially set for
trial during the pretrial confer
ence. The parties are re
minded to review the Court’s
Standing Order as they pre
pare the proposed Consolid
ated Pre-Trial Order and in anti
cipation of their attendance at
the Pre-Trial Conference.
Parties must submit a CON
SOLIDATED Pretrial Order in
conformity with Uniform State
Court Rule 7.2 by April 19.

filed with the Clerk of the Court.

datory Pretrial Conference on
April 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. In
preparation for the Pretrial con
ference, Parties are directed to:
• Email Ms. Burton a copy of
the Consolidated Pretrial Order
in Word format;
• Discuss settlement options
prior to the Pretrial Conference
and be ready to discuss settle
ment history with the Court:
• Discuss any motions in Limine
that have been filed and make
a good faith effort to resolve
them; and
• Discuss any objections in de
positions to be presented at tri
al and make a good faith effort
to resolve them. All unresolvad
objections, together with argu
ment and citations, shall be
brought to the pre-trial confer
ence, with a copy to the Court.
Any objections not brought be
fore the Court prior to trial shall
be deemed waived.

purpose of this Conference is
to determine the status of the
case, resolve remaining issues,
and schedule the case for trial.
A Consolidated Pre-Trial Order
will be due sixty (60) days be
fore trial, but the Order need
not be prepared for the Pre-Tri
al Conference.
At the Pre-trial Conference,
counsel and parties represent
ing themselves must be pre
pared to address any remain
ing discovery issues, all
pending or anticipated motions,
chances of settlement, length
of trial, number of jurors, jury
pre-qualifications, and court re
porting of the case. Counsel
and parties are expected to
confer, exchange documents
and resolve any discovery dis
putes. Further, they must have
express authority to settle the
pending claim(s) and be pre
pared to confidentially reveal
the terms of settlement to the
Court.
