Mrs. Ella Jean Mimbs
Carter, age 91, of Soperton,
died on January 20, 2021,
at her residence with her
family by her side.
Mrs. Carter was a life
long resident of Treutlen
County. She was a machine
operator for many years at
Soperton Manufacturing
and Roydon Wear, Inc., in
Soperton. She attended
Union Grove Calvary Ho
liness Church in Wrights-
ville. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Felder
Ashley and Lessie Price
Mimbs; her husband of 67
years, Hershel T. Carter; 1
granddaughter; Jeana La-
trice Carter; 5 brothers,
Leo, Woodrow, Manning,
Parker, and Elzira Mimbs;
and 2 sisters, Valrie Heady
and Dessie Mae Hicks.
Survivors include

Mrs. Wanda Kale
Shank, age 81, of Lyons,
died on Monday, January
18, 2021, at her residence
after a brief illness.
Mrs. Shank was a na
tive of West Virginia and
lived in Ohio for many
years before moving to
Georgia in 2011. She was
retired from Walmart after
18 years of service and was
a member of Faith Baptist
Church. She was preceded
in death by her husband,
Enos Shank; her parents,
Frank and Maxine Rich
ards; and 1 brother, Ed
ward Richards.

Mr. James Harris
James Leonard Harris
was born in Montgomery
County, GA, in 1934. He
was predeceased by his par
ents, Samuel D. Harris and
Mary Anne Bishop Pedder
Harris, and his brothers,
Samuel D. Harris, Jr., and
William L. “Billy” Harris.
Mr. Harris grew up in
Vidalia, GA, graduating
from Vidalia High School in
1952. He attended Georgia
Tech, and graduated from
Southern Tech in Cham-
blee, GA. Mr. Harris was
employed as a Territory
Manager with Lennox In
dustries in Birmingham, Al
abama, winning the Million
Dollar Sales award. Later,
transferring to North Au
gusta, SC, where he resided
for twenty-eight years.
While living in North
Augusta, he served on the
City Council for twelve
years. He was also an ac
tive member of Grace
United Methodist Church,
later joining First Baptist
Church. Mr. Harris re
tired in 1997 from Johnson
Controls as Deputy Proj
ect Manager at the Savan
nah River plant. He and
his wife, Gail, returned to
their hometown of Vidalia
in 2004, joining First Bap
tist Church, where he was
a member of the choir, the
count team, and the Fel
lowship Class and later, the
Caring and Sharing Class.
Recently, he returned to the
church ofhis childhood, Vi
dalia United Methodist. He
was also a member of the
Sons of the Revolution, and
the Vidalia Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Harris is survived
by his wife, Gail Crockett
Harris; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Anne H. Banks
and Leon Banks of New
berry, SC, and Jeanne W.
Foulke and Ron Foulke of
Brunswick, GA; five grand
children, Charlie Banks,
Catherine Gregorie, Dr.
Kelton Wigington M.D.,
Chase Williamson and Tra
vis Williamson; two step-
grandsons, Derrick Foulke
and David Foulke; and
fourteen great-grandchil
dren.

Mr. Grady Cammack
Mr. Grady Ray Cam-
mack, age 66, of Soperton,
died on Wednesday, Janu
ary 20, 2021, at his home.
Mr. Cammack was a
lifelong resident ofTreutlen
County and moved to Sop
erton in 1964. He was a
1973 graduate ofTreutlen
High School. He worked
at Harrell’s IGA in Soper
ton and later worked at the
Piglet, where he was store
manager for many years.
In 1977 he and his brother,
Billy founded Cammack
Processing. He was a long
time member of Bethsaida
Baptist Church, where he
was a deacon. He was pre
ceded in death by his par
ents, Grady James and Jes
sie Lee Gilreath Cammack.
Survivors include his
sisters and brothers, Lucy
M. Peebles (Jones), Hines-
ville, Bobby Joe Cammack
(Joan), Soperton, Billy

Mr. Billy Gault
Mr. Billy Gault, age 84,
of Vidalia, died on Tuesday,
January 19, 2021, in Mead
ows Health in Vidalia after
an extended illness.
Mr. Gault was a na
tive of Union, SC, and lived
there until he moved to Vi
dalia in 1989. He worked at
Milliken and Company in
Union for many years, and
when he moved to Vidalia,
he owned B&R TV Repair,
operating it for 15 years.
He was a member of Sardis
United Methodist Church
in Union. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Ru
dolph Gault and Lizzie Farr
Gault; 1 sister, Mary; and 1
brother, Dean.
Survivors include his
wife, Renaee Gault of Vida
lia; 2 sons, Shannon Gault of
Vidalia, and Joel Gault and
wife Cindy of Pacolet, SC;
and 1 daughter, Karen Huss
of Cross Hill, SC.

erett, age 84, of Soperton,
di°ed on January 18, 2021.
Rev. Leverett’s wife, Rev.
Linda Sue Jones Leverett,
age 80, died on Saturday,
January 23, 2021.
Rev. Charles Leverett
was bom in Tiff County. He
pastored churches in Ash-
bum, Valdosta, Conway,
SC, and Dawson. He served
as Senior Pastor at First As
sembly in Dawson for 37
years, until his retirement in
October 2011. In Dawson,
he served as secretary, vice
president, and president of
the local Ministerial Asso
ciation. He served as Chap
lain for the Police Dept, and
also served on The Terrell
County High School Advi
sory Board. He also served
for many years as a Presby
ter of the Georgia District
of the Assemblies of God.
After retiring, he and his
wife Linda moved to Sop
erton and attended Trinity
Assembly of God, where he
produced and printed the
Sunday Bulletin, served
on the Church Board, and
opened the Sunday Morn
ing Services.
Rev. Linda Leverett
was bom in Atlanta. She
was heavily involved in
the Women’s Ministries in
the church. She counseled
many in her church and
her community, and she
taught remedial reading
and mentored many chil-

in local nursing homes for
many years. They were
preceded in death by his
parents, W.H. Leverett and
Margaret Collins Leverett;

“Jack” Coleman, age 97, of
Tarrytown, died on Mon

the home of her son in Tar
rytown.
Mrs. Coleman was a
lifelong resident of Mont
gomery County. She
worked as a Clerk with the
Public Health Department
for over 42 years; retir
ing from the Montgomery
County Health Depart
ment in the early 1980s.
She was a lifelong mem
ber of Bear Creek Baptist
Church, where she played
the piano for many years.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Mitchell
