The Toombs County
High School Bulldogs soft-

wins to their total last week
as they picked up wins
over Wheeler County and
Washington County. That
moves their record to 4-1
on the year.
vs. Wheeler
Krista Cantwell got
the win in the circle for
Toombs as she went five
innings and allowed just
two hits with five strike
outs. Shay Stringer led the
way at the plate as she went
2-3, with Nora Grace Mer
cer 1-3, but with 4 RBI's.
After a scoreless first
inning, Toombs got their
bats going in the top of the
second as they plated seven
run to jump into the lead.
TCHS added two more in
the third inning to hold a
9-0 lead.
Wheeler picked up
their only run of the game
in bottom of the third in
ning, but one more for
Toombs in the fourth, and
six in the fifth gave the
Bulldogs a 16-1 victory,
vs. Washington

RBI's each.
This week Toombs
was scheduled to play

that game was cancelled
due to weather. They are

TCHS will wrap up the
week on Friday with Bryan
County coming to town at

RTCA
continued from page IB
frame to push their lead
to 11-3. That was all they
needed as Durden held in
the top of the fifth inning
to get the win by the run-
rule.
Durden not only got
the win pitching, but also
led the team with 3 RBI’s.
This week RTCA was at
Liberty County on Tues
day after presstime for a
double header. They will
be back in action on
Thursday when they host

“Being a part of Team
Georgia and competing at
Nationals is just a cool ex
perience.” said team coach,
Courtney Allen. Gym
owner, Robin Nance con
tinued, “We compete as
individual gymnasts and
teams all year, each from
different areas of the state
and country, but at Na
tionals, all Georgia quali
fying gymnasts wear the
same leotards and proudly
compete on the same
team... representing
TEAM GEORGIA”. They
continued, “Bringing
home the medals is defi
nitely one of our goals for
the season, but not the
main one. Seeing these
girls dedicate themselves
and completing a full year
of gymnastics, becoming
stronger physically and
mentally, growing as an
athlete and a young lady,
and watching them realize
they really can do anything
they set their minds to and
are willing to work for...
that’s what it’s all about
and truly the best feeling
ever for a coach”.
The team have added
13 new gymnasts: Adley
Hall, Avery Montford,
Bryalin Cox, Brynn Bell,
Dakatoa Register, Hadley
Hobbs, Jacey Owens, Ken
nedy Mclntrye, Lilah Ri-
ner, Mack Lewis, Payson
Wickstrom, Raylee Wein
berg, and Vayda Coxwell,
and are currently training
and preparing for their up
coming season.
