Board Begins Another Year

Board recently began the
fourteenth year of the
program. The Board is
composed of academi
cally gifted high school
seniors from six area
schools: Montgomery
County High School,
Robert Toombs Christian
Academy Toombs Coun
ty High School, Vidalia
Heritage Academy, Vidalia
High School and Wheeler
County High School. Dr.
Susanna Meredith, Mead
ows Gynecologist and Ob
stetrician, is the Director
of the Board.
Students meet each
month during the school
year to learn about health
care issues affecting the
community and to explore
careers in healthcare. They
also learn how integral
healthcare is to the well
ness and vitality of a com
munity.
The Meadows Hospi
tal Medical Staff hopes the
program will provide the
students with information
and opportunities and be
the impetus of a pursuit of
a healthcare related career.
The motto for the program
is “Leading Today’s Youth
to a Healthier Tomorrow.”
Several alumni of the
program are currently in
medical school, and many
others have completed or
are in the process of pur
suing degrees in nursing,
physical therapy, occu
pational therapy, speech
therapy, pharmacy, and
other healthcare related
fields.
