try was sent to Ellijay this week
by Dr. N ^ibert of Atlanta who is in
charge of tick eradication in
North Georgia. It developed for
some reason that Dr. Stever, who
had come to Ellijay to make his
headquarters for the summer, re¬
ceived on the day of his arrival
bore, a telegram from government
headquarters in Washington to pro¬
ceed to Fannin County that Gilmer
could not be considered in the
work. This seems strange indeed,
the counties of Fannin, Newton,
Stephens, Habersham and Frank¬
lin are the fortunate counties to re¬
ceive government help. Gilmer Co
has had considerable work done on
this line and with a little futher ef¬
forts could be f,, eedfrom the cattle
raising more encouraging. We

The busiest day of the year with
our merchants was last Saturday.
The recent rains making it too wet
to farm the country people took
