After the legal phrases of the situation were cleared a- 4
♦ way, the Guaranty Life Insurance Company placed upon 4
♦ the market the SIOO,OOO worth of stock at the phenominally {
♦ low rate of $200.00 per share. This stock is now open to the 2
♦ public and agents all over the state, will take the Certificates 4
♦ to the very doors of prospective buyers. 4
♦ The Guaranty* Life insurance Company, by virture of 4
♦ the existence and splendid accomplishments of the Guaran- 4
♦ ty Mutual and Health Insurance Company, will be no 4
♦ strange constellation of insurance firmament. The estab- X
♦ lished reputation of the former will impetus to the latter, 4
4 fiaud it is reasonably expected that the stocks of the Guaran- x

Mr. E. C, Haney, when going to his
work Tuesday morning to fire up, he
found oue of*the workman lying near a
pile of saw dust burned almost to death.
Mr. Hanej’ riished to him, his clothes
were burned off him and he told Mr.
Haney that after he had eaten his sup
per some one hit him and when he knew
anything he was in the fire. He was
also robbed of 14-five dollar bills. The
doctor was called to him and later he
was carried to St. Mary’s hospital. His
name is Mr. King Solomon.
Mr. Thomas Johnson, of Winterville,
who went to Illinois some years ago»
carrying his family, has gotten tired of
the cold winds of the Northland and
has returned to “Dixie.”-.

Mrs. Cora L. Cox, of 348 Bass street,
Atlanta Ga., departed this life, Mar.
3, 1924. She leaves to mourn her loss her
parents, Rev. and Mrs. J. F. Smith»
four sisters, two brothers and a host of
friends. The funeral was attended by
Rev. Kelley at the M. E. Church.
Rev. B. B. Williams preached at Tab
ernacle Baptist Chinch, Augusta, Ga.,
Sunday March 2. He administered the
Lord’s supper and at day light baptised
about one hundred- Services were held
; at 1 o ; Clock.

Mrs. Hattie Hunter is much improved
after several weeks of illness. We are
glad to see Iler out again.
Mrs. Hattie Freeman-h as z returned
from New York after spending several
delightful months with friends.
The Happy Ten Club gave a splendid
play at the M. E. Chnrch Thursday
•light. ’ The success was great.
Mrs. Louise entertained her
cluli Tuesday night at the home of Prof.
Wm Howard. The reacts were great.
