Diamond Doggs prepare for region slate By Chris Bridges Journal Sports Editor The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team was 3-2 going into this week. The Diamond Doggs have recorded non-region wins against Peachtree Ridge (3-2), Lakeside (10- 2) and Walnut Grove (10-6) while falling to non-region foes Greenbrier (5-0) and Madison County (15-5). The Diamond Doggs are scheduled to begin play in Region 8-AAAAA this week with a pair of games against Heritage High School. WBHS is sched uled to play at Heritage in Conyers Wednesday (today) before meeting the team in a home rematch Friday. Both games are set to begin at 5:55 p.m. Coach Brian Smith's team will then briefly step out of region play March 10 for a home game against Peachtree Ridge before returning to region battle against Cedar Shoals on March 11 and March 14.
