Jean Clark Allen, 64, passed
away Monday, March 14,
2016, at Emory University
Hospital in Atlanta.
Carol was born in Kansas
City, Mo., on June 23, 1951,
the daughter of Joyce and
Howard Clark. She attended
Ruskin High School and grad
uated in 1969. She enjoyed
traveling, reading, and spend
ing time with her grandchil
dren and great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death
by her husband, Steven Floyd
Allen.
Survivors in addition to
her parents include her son,
Christopher Allen and wife,
Pam, Raytown, Mo.; daugh
ter, Kelly Gerrin and hus
band, Mark George, Monroe,
Ga.; seven grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; brother,
Bill Clark and his wife. Barb,
Kansas City, Mo.; brother,
Bob Clark and his wife, Lois,
Sioux City, S.D.; sister, Elaine
Clark Jonakin and her hus
band, Lynn; and many nieces,
nephews, cousins, aunts, and
uncles.
The family wishes to extend

University Hospital ICU doc
tors, nurses, and staff for their
support in her final days, and
to the members of The Grove
Baptist Church for their love
for Carol and her family.

held at The Grove Baptist
Church in Maysville on Satur
day, March 19, with the Rev.
John Wood officiating.

COLBERT - Elizabeth
Strickland Anglin, 79, died
March 15, 2016.
A native of Athens, she was
the daughter of the late Grace
Davis and Charlie Strickland.
Mrs. Anglin was preceded in
death by her husband, George
Paul Anglin, Sr.; two daugh
ters, Carol Paulette Kirby and
Linda Bernice Highland; and
a grandson, Marcus Dupree
Highland. She retired from
General Time after 35 years.
Survivors include six chil
dren, George Paul Anglin,
Jr., Debra Lynn Scarborough,
Barbara McClain, Audrey
Diane Jackson, and Stacie
Marie Baxter; 17 grandchil
dren; and six great-grandchil
dren.

Macedonia Holiness Church.

beth Barber, 88, passed away
Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
She was a member of
the Bethlehem First United
Methodist Church for over 60
years. She retired as a supervi
sor for Barrow Manufacturing
Company. Elizabeth loved to
travel and loved to do yard
work and cut grass. She was
preceded in death by her par
ents, Curtis and Annie Mae
Hardy Miller; her husband of
43 years, John Royce Barber;
and three sisters, Emmaleen
Sorrells, Catherine Sorrells,
and Doris Everett.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Wayne and
Karen Barber, Bethlehem; two
grandchildren, Houston and
Clayton Barber; and several
nieces and nephews.

Charles Thomas “Tommy”
Collins, 56, passed away on
Friday, March 18, 2016, at his
residence.
Mr. Collins was born in
London, England, on May
25, 1959, the son of Charles
Daniel Collins and Mary
Elizabeth Brown Collins. He
worked at Ron’s Oil Field in
Alaska and was a member of
Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr.
Collins was preceded in death
by one brother, George Daniel
Collins.

Alton Fleming
COMER - Alton Scott
Fleming, 52, died Thursday,
March 17, 2016.
Born in Athens, he was the
son of the late Austin LaClade
Fleming and Cecil Sorrells
Fleming. Scott was a lifelong
resident of Madison County.
He was preceded in death by
his brother, Kenneth Fleming.
For the last 20 years, Scott
has been a devoted son, com
panion and caregiver to his
mom, whom he lived with at
her request. Mom always gave
glowing reports of his care for
her and never ever had any
complaint of him. His family
and friends testify to his lov
ing care and commitment to
her dying wishes, and trust
the Lord that Scott’s memory
will reflect his kindness and
care. Scott made tremendous
sacrifices for his mother and
is to be honored for his love
and devotion to her even to the
time of his own death.

78, passed away Wednesday,
March 16, 2016.
A native of Madison
County, Mrs. Jordan was
born March 17, 1937, the
daughter of the late Edgar
Lee and Clyde Emma Kincaid
Faulkner. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Odis
Jordan, Jr.; brothers, Clif
ford Faulkner and Howard
Faulkner; and sisters, Susie
Carithers and Jewel Coleman.
Survivors include one
son, Terry Jordan, Comer;
two daughters, Sheree Pas-
trick (Raleigh), Jefferson,
and Tamara Jordan, Seattle,
Wash.; one brother, Monroe
Faulkner (Johnnie Sue), Ila;

Garland Lewallen Sr.
BALDWIN Garland
Lewallen, Sr., 83, passed
away Friday, March 11, 2016.
Born in Gainesville on
March 28, 1932, he was the
son of the late William “Will”
Jasper and Blanche Saxon
Lewallen. Mr. Lewallen was
a 1950 graduate of Lula High
School. He then went on to
serve as a Staff Sergeant in the
United States Army during the
Korean Conflict. In 1968, Mr.
Lewallen founded Northeast
Georgia Carpet Incorporated,
which he owned and oper
ated until his death. He was
a member of Belton Baptist
Church in Lula, but actively
attended Mtn. View Baptist
Church in Baldwin for many
years, where he sang in the
choir. He was an outdoors-
man who enjoyed farming,
gardening, hunting and fish
ing with his grandchildren,
tinkering with tractors, and
working with his hands.
Mr. Lewallen was preced
ed in death by sisters-in-law,
Carolyn Lewallen and Ulmar
Evans; brothers-in-law, Den
ver Evans, Roy Thomas and
Jewell Thomas; and father-in-
law and mother-in-law, Luke
and Myrtle Evans.
Survivors include his wife
of 61 years, Reba Nell Evans

Steven Patterson
BUFORD - Steven Mat
thew Patterson, born July 19,
1980, passed away peacefully
on Tuesday, March 15, 2016,
in Buford. He was 35 years
old.
Upon graduation from
Faith Academy in 1999, he
attended Gwinnett Techni
cal College for Commercial
Photography. He worked at
Primerica/CitiGroup for four
years in the Customer Service
Department, as part owner
and head photographer for his
company Happily Ever After
Event Planning, and as a vol
unteer, on-set photographer
for In Our Image Productions
Company. Most recently, he
worked for Goodwill of Geor
gia in donor services.
Steven had a kind and gen
tle spirit, a tremendous love
of family, and dearly trea
sured those he called friends.
He had an appreciation of all
things vintage, and loved to
shop for and collect antiques.
Steven loved all holidays,
and was always so excited
to plan, decorate, and cook
for them. He had a love of
music, playing the trombone
in school, and an amazing
talent for photography that
he used to document wed
dings and gatherings. He
loved meeting friends for cof
fee and the competitiveness
of all-night gaming contests
between friends and family.
He had a fondness for all
types of weather, enjoying
thunderstorms and rain, and
his love of snow in the winter
could only be rivaled by his
love for his long-time furry
companion, Sassy. He was a
son, a brother, and a friend to
many, and his loss will be felt
forever.
Survivors include his father,
Dr. Donald G. Patterson, Jr
and wife Deborah; his mother,
Kathryn Reeves and husband
Steve; grandmother, Betty
Reeves; loving brothers, Ken,
Dennis and Scott Patterson;
sisters-in-law, Mandy and
Amanda Patterson; nieces and
nephews, Alisa, Hanna, and
Hayden Patterson; and a large
extended family, and a group
of close friends he referred to
as family.
A memorial service was
