Winder Incidents continued from 6A •traffic stop for inoperable brake light on Capitol Ave nue; the driver was issued citations for expired license plate, violation of class CP license and removing or affixing tags to conceal the identity of a vehicle. The vehicle was towed. •traffic stop for non work ing headlight on E. New Street; the driver was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license and given a warning on the nonworking headlight. •traffic stop for no insur ance and an expired regis tration on Loganville High way; the driver was issued citations and the vehicle was towed. •suspicious male on Exchange Boulevard; a white male wearing a long black trench coat was questioned and taken into custody and charged wit public intoxica tion and public drunk. •domestic dispute on Springdale Drive; a female reported that she had caught her husband with anoth er women in Athens and returned to their home and had thrown her husband’s bottles of cologne on the asphalt outside. She was arrested for criminal trespass/ family violence. •motor vehicle accident on S. Broad and Stafford Streets; the at-fault driver was arrested for driving with out a license and failure to yield when entering roadway. •attempted burglary and criminal trespass on Iris Lane; complainant report ed finding pry marks on the frame of the back door to his residence and damage to the railing on his balcony. •shoplifting at Publix on Monroe Highway; a white male was observed taking $563.80 worth of heartburn medication and exiting the store without paying for it. •verbal dispute on Mobile Drive; two females were in a verbal argument and one of the females was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for Hall County. •outstanding warrant arrest on May Street; a male subject that appeared to be intoxi cated was questioned as he walked down May Street and was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant charge. •traffic stop on May Street; the passenger was taken into custody on a failure to appear warrant and the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license. •outstanding warrant arrest on Box Circle. •disorderly conduct report on Glenview Terrace; two males were issued citations for a physical altercation. Due to conflicting stories, the citations were issued. •traffic stop for failure to maintain lane on W. May Street; the driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of drugs, failure to maintain lane, no taillights and driving while unlicensed. •Hannah Marie Torrens, 36, of John’s Bluff, Auburn; contributing to the depriva tion of child. •Carolyn April Rickert, 41, of Shannon Way, Law- renceville; felony probation violation. OTHER INCIDENTS Other activity reported by the APD includes: •found property on Auburn Park Drive; a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal like substance was found in the parking lot of the Waffle House. •traffic stop for speeding 56 mph in a 35 mph zone on Mount Moriah Road; the driver was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and speeding and the pas senger was cited for pos session of a drug-related object. Robbers enter through bathroom The Barrow County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in reference to a bur glary on E. Midland Avenue. An employee of the Midland BP Station noticed the store to be in disarray when he arrived for work and quickly notified law enforcement. Officers noted that there were pieces of drywall, water and miscellaneous items scattered on the floor throughout the store. There was a haze inside the building that had a similar odor to a gas powered two- stroke motor. The back wall through the bathroom appeared to be knocked through with some form of heavy tool. There was also a large hole underneath the coke machines in the front of the store. The cash register was open and ciga rettes and miscellaneous electronics were scattered throughout the floor behind the counter. The Fire Department was called to the scene due to the smoke-like haze and the store was checked for safety precautions. The burglary remains under investigation.
