Organizers said this is the Tree House’s biggest fundraiser of the year with over 20 live auction items and 100 silent auc tion items. The mission of the Tree House is to strengthen communities by reducing the occurrence and impact of child abuse through counceling, educating, supporting and nurturing children and families in Barrow, Banks, and Jack- son counties. “We also provide free counceling for children ages three through sev enteen if they have expe rienced abuse or any type of tramatic event,” said Ginette Williams, Tree House executive director. Last year the program served 714 children and families and provided over 7,000 services. “It’s my passion to be able to help touch chil drens lives and rebuild families and I can’t imag ine doing anything differ ent,” said Williams, who has been with the Tree House for 10 years. This year their goal was to raise $45,000 in funds. All proceeds from this event were tax-deductible and went directly towards programs and services to help child victims of abuse to begin the healing process and to provide education to families to prevent abuse from hap pening at all.
