Mrs. Bennett was born in Monroe, the daughter of the late Charlie James and Thelma Tallu lah McCarty Snelling. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a retired nurse from BJC Medical Center. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Ben nett, Jr. Survivors include her son, Robert Lee Bennett, III, Snell- ville; daughters, Donnah Sparks and Carol Schneider, both of Commerce, Linda Hadden, Morristown, Tenn., and Teresa Cornell, Marietta; brother, Char lie Mac Snelling, Jefferson; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Fla., now residing in Carnesville, and the late Sidney Brock. Mr. Brock attended Chipola Junior College, Gulf Coast Junior College, and was an entrepreneur and a farm er. Mr. Brock was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Commerce Ward, where he served in several lead ership capac ities, includ ing District Presidency of Atlanta District, and leadership positions in Lilburn Ward and Crawfordville, Fla. Branch. Mr. Brock was also a veteran of the Air National Guard. Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife, Billie Hellen Hamick Brock, Nichol son; son, Steve Brock and his wife Emily, Marianna. C.L (Clarence Landers) Pritchett C.L. “Clarence Landers” Pritchett died peacefully at his residence on Thurs day, June 2. follow ing a period of declin ing health, resulting from prima ry progres sive aphasia (a form of dementia). C.L. was a graduate of South Habersham High School class of 1960. Between 1967-1990, C.L. was an accomplished race car driver, winning multiple track championships and major victo ries on touring circuits, includ ing the National Dirt Racing Association. The total wins dur ing his 23-year career totaled 900-1000 races in which he fin ished in the top 10 more than 90 percent of the time. C.L. managed to accomplish all this while working with his step father at McDonald Chevrolet and raising three children. After his retirement from racing, C.L. and his nephew. Chuck Bennett, bought C.L.’s brother’s (Harold) tire store and later expanded as a franchise to multiple locations with nephew Jonathan Bennett. In 2008 C.L. was inducted into the Cherokee Speedway Hall of Fame. In early 2015 he was recognized with a proclamation by the Georgia State Senate as the "Last American Hero” and in November 2015 was Inducted into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. C.L. was preceded in death by his father, Swayne Pritch ett: his mother, Francine Chit wood Pritchett McDonald; sis ter, Marlene Pritchett Bennett; step-father, Homer McDonald; former wife of his children. Gwen Ayers and granddaugh ters, Megan Terrell and Ashley Howard. Survivors include his brother, Harold (Lawanna) Pritchett; brother-in-law. Charles Ben nett; step-brother, Doug (Carol) McDonald; and former wife. Beverly Pritchett; children, son, Todd Pritchett and his partner, Craig Dixon, daughter, Trade Terrell and husband Jonathan and daughter Tonya Howard; step-children, Josh Moore, Brandi White, and Kelly Bowen; grandchildren. Charles retired from the Unit ed States Navy and The Univer sity of Georgia. His retirement included 20 plus years from each.
