Bom in Troup County, she was the daughter of the late Flenry and Mary Lou Madson Wilkins. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Fleming. Survivors include her husband, L.O. Fleming, Bethlehem; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Joan Fleming, Statham, Donnie and Susan Fleming, Bethlehem; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathey and Stan Cruce, Snellville, Anita and Scott Hayes, Monroe; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Buddy Wilkins, Lilbum; and several nieces and nephews. A native of DeKalb County, he was the son of Wendy and Bill Kenyon of Franklin and Karl and Betty Holbrook of Ranger. He was a field opera tions manager with Birch Telecom. Mr. Holbrook was preceded in death by grandchildren, Tiffany Holbrook, Adam Everett and Caleb Holbrook. Bom in Oconee County, he was the son of the late W.C. and Lelia Breedlove Garrett. He was ~| retired from Scientific 1 Atlanta after 30 years of service and was a member of Mountain Park Baptist Church. Mr. Garrett was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Cornelia “Neal” Garrett, Lilbum; a daughter, Denise Garrett, Decatur; brothers, Jerry Garrett, Winder, Harold Garrett, Bernard Garrett and Herbert Garrett, all of Statham; and a host of nieces and nephews. A native of Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Willie Thomas Hill. She was Pentecostal and was a homemaker. Mrs. Smallwood was preceded in death by her hus band, William W. Smallwood; and a son, William “Wash” Smallwood. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Boggus, Winder; son, George Smallwood, Gainesville; sisters, Cora Mae Pass and L.E. Smith, both of Gainesville; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Hall Bethelem Lewis Russell Hall, 83, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, March 20, 2008. Born in Gwinnett County, he was the son of the late John Russell and Maude Carter Hall. He was retired from Barrow Manufacturing Company. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Hall; and sisters, Geneva Holliday and Dorothy Hall. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Teal, Winder; three grandchil dren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Ruth Langford Gillsville Ruth Geraldine Langford, 92, of Gillsville, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, following a brief illness. Bom on August 25,1915,inJackson County, she was one of nine chil dren bom to the late William Joseph and Leah Murphy Cash. Mrs. Langford was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Grady Langford. She was devoted to her fam ily and words can not express their loss, according to family members. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Langford and Larry Sailors, Maysville, and Christa Sue Langford Pickett, Albany; broth ers, Carey Cash, Bethlehem, and Myron Cash, Hoschton; sister, Ann Georgine Smith, Waycross; grand children, Pam Sailors, Springfield, Mo., Mark Pickett, Albany, Paige Pastor, St. Simon’s Island, Richard Sailors, Maysville; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, at the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with the Revs. Tom Fish and Bob Lewis officiat ing. Burial was in the church cem etery. The Braselton News, March 26,2008. ‘Tom’ McKenna Jefferson Thomas “Tom” McKenna, 36, of Jefferson, formerly of Hackettstown, N.J., died Saturday, March 22, 2008. He was bom on November 16, 1971, in Sussex County, N.J., the son of Terrence J. and Joann Theresa Williams McKenna of Essex, N.Y. He was a network engineer with Scientific Atlanta, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his children, loved ones stated. Survivors in addition to his par ents, include his wife, Tina McKenna, Jefferson; sons, Hayden Thomas McKenna (age 8) and Landon Michael McKenna (age 4), all of Jefferson; a sister, Michele Shelly Hepworth, Essex, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Terrance and Bonnie McKenna, Washington, N.J.; grand parent, Isabelle Williams, Port Richey, Fla.; nephew, Matthew McKenna, Washington, N.J.; God Parents, Stanley and Bernice Williams, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, at 8 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening before the ser vice. A visitation and service will be held at the Scala Memorial Home in Hackettstown, N.J., on Sunday, March 30, 2008. The burial will follow on Monday, in the Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, N.J. Bom in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Mardell Martin Hanes and was Presbyterian. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Reed; and granddaughter, Chastity Paige Reed. Survivors include her husband, Jewell D. Reed, Flowery Branch; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Hazel Reed and Buddy and Linda Reed, all of Flowery Branch, and Jerry and Jackie Reed, Oakwood; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He loved his family and grandchildren and loved watch ing television, loved ones added. She was bom December 27, 1920, in Clermont, and was the daughter the late John Moses and Fannie Norris Jackson. She was a homemaker, care giver and worked at New Holland Mill in the spool ing department. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and sang in church when she was younger. Mrs. Pethel was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Herbert Pethel; brother, Bill Franklin Jackson; and sisters, Joyce E. Whitmire Smith and Joann Jackson Davidson. Alan Blalock Gainesville Alan Lamar Blalock, 55, of Gainesville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at his residence, following an extended illness. Bom in Hall County on November 1, 1952, the son of Frances “Cricket” Ingram Blalock of Gainesville and the late Cecil Blalock. He graduated from Georgia Tech and was a retired mechanical engineer. Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Blalock and Jerry Blalock. Jerry Thomas Lula Jerry Lee Thomas, 46, of Lula, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at his resi dence, following a brief illness. Bom in Hall County on August 19, 1961, he was the son of the late Rev. J. Hudson Thomas and Louise Worley Thomas of Lula. He was employed for 19 years with Jim Hardman Pontiac GMC, where he was currently the service manager. He was Baptist and enjoyed playing golf and spending quality time with his family and friends, loved ones stated. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by grandparents, Lee and Ola Worley and the Rev. J.C. Thomas and Lillie Bell Saxon Thomas; and an uncle, Morgan Worley. Survivors in addition to his mother, include a loving caretaker, friend and fiance, Tori H. Freeman, Murrayville; fiance’s daughters and son-in-law, Amberly Freeman, Gainesville, and Roger and Ashley Pearson, Lula; brother, Gary Thomas, Helen; aunts and uncles, Ruth and Bascom Echols, Ronnie and Mildred Loggins and Larry and Susan Thomas, all of Lula, the Rev.
