Grady Bentley
Winder
Grady Ira Bentley, 84, of
Winder, died Tuesday, March
25, 2008.
He was bom in Walton County,
the son of the late William Albert
and Eunice Ruth
Wood Bendey. He
was a member of
the Winder First
Baptist Church,
and had worked at Winder Rug
Mill and for the City of Winder.
Mr. Bentley was a veteran, hav
ing served in the United States
Army during World War II and
was in seven major batdes.
Survivors include his wife,
Alline Reidling Bentley, Winder;
daughters, Peggy Crowe, Winder,
and Diane Miller, Orlando, Fla.;
five grandchildren; 10 great
grandchildren; brother, Paul
Bentley, Dacula; and a sister,
Dot Harmon, Atlanta.
Funeral services were held
Thursday, March 27, at Smith
Memory Chapel with the Rev.
Joel Shadburn officiating.
Burial was in Barrow Memorial
Gardens.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder,
was in charge of arrangements.

James Sweat
Winder
James F. Sweat, 82, of Winder,
died Friday, March 28, 2008.
A native of Barrow County,
he was the son of the late
Marion and Mattie
Anthony Sweat.
He was a mem
ber of Appalachee
Baptist Church and a retiree
of the Georgia Department of
Transportation. Mr. Sweat was
preceded in death by his first
wife, Fucille Anthony Sweat; and
a daughter, Sarah Nell Grissom.
Survivors include his wife,
Margaret Sweat; sons, J.T. Sweat,
John Sweat and Howard Sweat,
all of Winder; a sister, Grace
Clark, Adanta; 10 grandchildren;
and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, March 30, in the chapel
of Carter Funeral Home. Burial
was in the Appalachee Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Winder
Costine Wilkerson, 65, of
Winder, died Tuesday, March
25, 2008.
Bom in Perry County, Ky.,
she was the daughter of Alpha
Forrester of Braselton and the
late Clifton Jones.
Survivors in addition to her
mother, include her husband,
Ronald Wilkerson, Winder; and
a daughter, Vicki Wilkerson,
Clarkston.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, March 29, at Smith
Memory Chapel with the Rev.
Jason Walls officiating. Burial
was in Barrow Memorial
Gardens.

Hoschton
James P. Hardigree, 86, of
Hoschton, died Thursday, March
27, 2008.
A native of Oconee County, he
was the son of the late Willie and
Willie Mae Fincher _____
Hardigree. He j
was a member of ■
the Center United
Methodist Church and was a
retired plumber. He was a vet
eran, having served in the United
States Army during World War
II. Mr. Hardigree was preceded in
death by a son, Terry Hardigree.
Survivors include his wife,
Patricia Hosch Hardigree;
children, Tyron Hardigree,
Dawsonville, Bill Hardigree,
Gainesville, Tim Hardigree,
Hoschton, and Twanda Finch,
Bethlehem; sisters, Fillian
Finch and Faura Finch, both of
Augusta, Fouise Fincher, Winder,
and Annie Wofford, Statham;
brothers, Herbert Hardigree,
Focust Grove, Harold Hardigree,
Winder, and Ramie Hardigree,
Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, March 30, from the
Center United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Howard Banks
officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery.

Christopherson
Demorest
Farry Spencer Christopherson,
77, of Demorest, died Thursday,
March 27, 2008, at his resi
dence.
He was bom on July 8, 1930,
in Minneapolis, Minn., the son
of the late Arthur
and Pearl Spencer j^_
Christopherson. He ~
was retired from
Internal Revenue Service with 18
years of service and was a mem
ber at the Fiving Faith Sanctuary.
He was a veteran, having served
in the United States Air Force
with 21 years honorable service.
Mr. Christopherson was pre
ceded in death by a daughter,
Marilyn Robinson Garrison.
Survivors include his wife,
Olivia Elizabeth Patrick
Christopherson, Demorest;
daughters and sons-in-law, Susan
and Bobby Gragg, Demorest,
Debbie and Bob Jackson,
Gainesville, Karen and Dr.
Frank Flanders, Athens; daugh
ter and fiance, Donna Adamson
and William H. Blalock III,
Gainesville; sons, Danny
and Steven Robinson, both of
Demorest; sister and brother-in-
law, Fois and Dr. Richard Patch,
Eden Prairie, Minn.; 16 grand

Barbara Ann Fee, 52, of
Gillsville, died Saturday, March
29, 2008.
Bom on March 1, 1956, she
was the daughter of the late
Johnny Clifford and Ruby Norris
Fee.
Survivors include sisters,
Clara Hansford, Toccoa, Foretta
Carter, Pendergrass, Rita Wilson,
Gainesville; brothers, Johnny
C. Fee Jr., Commerce, Farry
Fee, Murrayville, and Feroy
Fee, Pendergrass; companion,
William Ronnie Dale, Gillsville;
and a host of nieces and neph
ews.
Private family services will be
held at a later date. The body was
cremated.

Billy Joe McDuffie
Cornelia
Billy Joe McDuffie, 72, of
Cornelia, died Friday, March 28,
2008, at his residence, following
a sudden illness.
Bom in Hart County on April
18, 1935, he was the son of
the late Boyd and Vida Allen
McDuffie. He was a logger and
since retirement, he was known
as the “watermelon man”. He
was also a charter member of
Crossroads Baptist Church. Mr.
McDuffie was preceded in death
by sisters, Barbara Ann Jordan
and Doris Campbell; brothers,
FeonMcDuffie, Grady McDuffie,
Jack McDuffie, Jimmy McDuffie
and Willis McDuffie.
Survivors are the mother of his
children, Bernice Gough, Fula;
daughter and son-in-law, Awa
“Coot” and Michael Martin,
Gainesville; son, Joe McDuffie,
Fula; grandchildren, Billy Joe
McDuffie Jr. and Jonathan
McDuffie, both of Fula, Gin
Martin and Michelle Martin,
both of Gainesville; six great
grandchildren; and best friend
and neighbor, Kenneth Humanus,
Cornelia.

William Fewis Morris, 50,
of Gainesville, died Saturday,
March 29, 2008, at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center in
Gainesville, following a sudden
illness.
He was bom in Hall County,
the son of the late Willie T. and
Fouise Morris. He was a member
of Eastview Baptist Church and
was a loving husband, father and
grandfather, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Judy
Murphy Morris, Gainesville;
daughter and son-in-law,
Melissa and Hank Huddleston,
Gainesville; son, Michael Morris,
Gainesville; grandchildren, Eli,
Emma and Ethan Huddleston;
sister, Barbara Morris Harkins,
Gainesville; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, April 1, in the chapel
of Memorial Park Funeral Home
with the Revs. Grady White,
Farrell Presley and Bobby
Jones officiating. Burial was in
Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hazel Fowler, 96, of Athens,
died Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
She was a homemaker and was
preceded in death by her hus
band, William Henry Fowler.

Fori Murray, Athens, Tammie

Ralph C. Marlow, 73, of
Gainesville, died S aturday, March
22, 2008, at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center in Gainesville,
following an extended illness.
He was bom on September 23,
1934, in Jackson County, the son
of the late Hubert and Essie Fay
Marlow. He was retired as a cab
driver with 49 years of service
and was a member of Temple
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Carolyn Stephens Marlow,
Gainesville; daughter and son-
in-law, Beverly and James
Summersett, Gainesville; sons
and daughter-in-law, Ricky and
Fisa Marlow and Barry Marlow,

Roy Vaughn
Jefferson
Roy Fee Vaughn, 61, of
Jefferson, died Thursday, March
6, 2008.
He was bom on July 8, 1946,
in Gaston, Ala., the son of the
late Henry and Norry Ruth
Wilkerson Vaughn. He was an
automobile mechanic and was
a veteran, having served in the
United States Army
during the Vietnam
war. Mr. Vaughn —
was preceded in
death by a son, Steven Vaughn.
Survivors include his
wife, Sylvia Parker Vaughn,
Jefferson; three stepchildren,
all of Jefferson; five grandchil
dren, all of Jefferson; and one
great-grandchild, Jefferson; two
sisters and two brothers, all of
Alabama.

Nathaniel W. Howard, 68,
of Maysville, formerly of
Cleveland, died Saturday, March
22, 2008, following an extended
illness.
He was bom on June 27, 1939,
the son of the late John David
and Carrie Nix Howard. He was
a farmer for many years and was
preceded in death by his first
wife, Shirley Howard.
Survivors include his wife,

Roy Hay, Cleveland, Elizabeth
