GCPS to host annual Child Find event Dec. 1 Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) will host an information meeting for fami lies of children with disabilities and/or suspected disabilities on Thursday, Dec. 1. Inter ested parties can drop in be tween 9 a.m. and noon at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center located at 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW, in Su- wanee. The meeting will take place in the Central Gwinnett Room 2.111 in Building 200. Attendees to the Child Find meeting will receive informa tion about services available through the school system to support students with disabili ties. Child Find works to iden tify and support students, (ages 3-21), with disabilities who are currently enrolled in private or home school programs in Gwinnett County. Locals help JSU win Sudler Trophy The John Phillip Sousa Foundation presented the Jacksonville State Universi ty Marching Southerners the prestigious Sudler Trophy at halftime during the Game cocks final home football game of the season on Nov. 12. Given to one collegiate marching band every two years, the award is the equiv alent of winning the Heisman Trophy and JSU is the small est university ever to win since the awards program was creat ed 40 years ago.
