Ten individually packaged plastic bags of mar ijuana were found in a metal water bottle inside the vehicle, according to the arrest report. Kawamane Theron Lamar Dickinson, 32, 2261 Margaret Gray Dr., Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, speed ing, failure to yield to an emer gency vehicle and an open con tainer violation. The vehicle was searched after the officer reported an “extremely heavy” odor of marijuana coming from it. OTHER ARRESTS Other recent arrests reported to Braselton Police include: •Brandon Evans, 26, 245 Hollow Ridge Dr., Athens — loitering or prowling and obstructing or hindering a law enforcement officer. Evans was arrested after reportedly resisting officers while being patted down for weapons at a Spout Springs Rd. grocery store. Officers had been called to the scene after Evans was re portedly told multiple times to leave the business. •Scott David Talisman, 39, 3744 Old Plainview Rd.. Flow ery Branch — bench warrant (state court), failure to maintain lane and hands-free law viola tion. Talisman was arrested af ter an officer learned of a war rant for Talisman out of Hall County after pulling him over for reportedly failing to main tain his lane of travel. INCIDENTS Recent incidents reported to Braselton Police include: •forgery on Gum Springs Church Rd. where someone reportedly forged three checks from a business account for a total of $14,100. •theft on Cherry Dr. where a catalytic converter was report edly stolen from a church van. •traffic stop on 1-85 where a driver was cited for possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), possession of drug-re lated objects, speeding and driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license. •harassment on Hwy. 53 where a woman said a man. against whom she filed a re straining order, showed up at a pool tournament in which she was playing. •harassment on Rushmore Circle where a woman said someone told her juvenile daughter to pay them $200 be cause they had a nude photo of her. •traffic stop on Friendship Rd. where a driver was cited for possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), posses sion of drug-related objects, driving with a suspended or re voked license, driving with no proof of insurance and driving unaccompanied on a learner’s permit. •damage to property on Spout Springs Rd. where a man reportedly left drag marks across a parking lot with his trailer. •traffic stop on 1-85 where a driver was cited for posses sion of marijuana (less than one ounce), speeding, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane. •runaway on Hwy. 53 where a juvenile was detained after reportedly becoming combat ive with officers. Prior to en countering police, the juvenile reportedly went to a restaurant and told the staff he had no home and needed food. An officer reportedly spotted him as the juvenile rode away from the business on a bicycle. The juvenile was later released to his father. West Jackson Incidents Man claiming to work for U.S. Customs tries to gain woman’s personal information A woman who lives on Durham Rd. said a man claiming to work for the U.S. Customs Office attempted to gain her personal information during a recent phone call. According to an incident report filed with the Jack- son County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), the man said multiple contraband items in the wom an’s name were in the office’s possession. She said the man would not say what was con tained in the packages. She said he was very ada mant about gaining her per sonal information, but she only provided the last four digits of her social security number. The woman said she hung up on the man. OTHER INCIDENTS Other recent incidents report ed to the JCSO include: •agency assist on Hwy. 60 where a man said he injured his foot after hearing someone in the woods and investigating the noise. The man appeared par anoid and possibly under the influence of drugs, according to the incident report. He was transported to Northeast Geor gia Medical Center in Braselton for treatment of his foot. •simple battery on Hwy. 124 where a man said his wife punched him between the eyes during an argument. •dispute on Panther Ct. where a woman said her boyfriend is dealing marijuana and abusing pills and wanted him removed from the residence. She was told to contact the magistrate judge to seek an eviction notice. •dispute on Hwy. 60 and Hwy. 124 where a woman stopped her vehicle along the side of the road after arguing with her daughter while in route to a hotel. The woman re portedly had been drinking and did not want to continue driv ing. A passerby took the wom an and her daughter to the hotel, according to the incident report. •theft on Hwy. 124 where two dollies were reportedly sto len off of a tow truck. •suicide threats on Kings Rd. where a woman said she had thoughts of hurting herself. She was transported to a hospital to talk with a mental health pro fessional. •suspicious activity on East Jefferson St. where a woman said her daughter found a bullet on a school bus. The woman said her daughter attempted to tell the bus driver, but she was ignored. The woman said the bus driver’s non-response could be racially motivated based on her actions “toward Caucasian children versus those toward African American children.” •dispute on White St. where a woman said her boyfriend broke up with her and refused to return her cat. The woman’s boyfriend said ownership of the cat was in both of their names. •theft on River Bend Dr. where a man said a tag off of a vehicle he’d sold was stolen. •harassing communica tions on Hickory Bluff where a woman said her juvenile daughter was being harassed on social media over a dispute that occurred in Athens. •dispute on Hensley Lane where a woman said she and her husband got into an argu ment over some video footage of her that he found. •threats on Panther Ct. where a woman said her ex-boyfriend threatened to kill her. The woman said she would file for a temporary restraining order against him. •mental subject on Candle- wood Lane where a man said he felt that someone driving around his neighborhood want ed to kill him. He said he'd been feeling this “for a while.” The man was transported to North east Georgia Medical Center in Braselton for an evaluation. •theft on Summer Hill Dr. where a man said a Nintendo Switch delivered to his resi dence was stolen. •burglary on Hwy. 124 where a man said 24 windows to be installed in homes under construction were stolen. The windows were reportedly val ued at a total of $5,475. Security Traditions of Braselton adds license-reading cameras Traditions of Braselton re cently incorporated a number of security cameras at key points throughout its 1,140- acre neighborhood. Monitored 24 hours a day, the cameras are designed to read license plates and have helped reduce crime by 70% in neighborhoods where they are employed, ac cording to a press release.
