I* J <*r * jT^ JACKSON TRAIL COMPETES IN FORESTRY EVENT The Jackson Trail Christian School FFA Forestry Team recently competed at the Area 2 Forestry Career Development Event held at the University of Georgia Whitehall Forest in Athens. The JTCS middle school team placed 2nd, securing a spot in the state finals competition that will be held March 18 at the Georgia FFA Center in Covington. In the individual competition Logan Perry placed 4th, Daniel Jung placed 6th, Emma Jernigan placed 9th and Gavin Rice placed 10th. Members had to perform skills in timber management, dendrology, timber cruising and compass reading. JACKSON TRAIL COMPETES IN BIBLE QUIZ BOWL The Jackson Trail Christian School Bible Quiz Bowl Team recently competed in the Georgia Association of Christian Schools State Quiz Bowl Competition held in Buford. The JTCS middle school team placed third in state after being quizzed over questions from I Corin thians and II Corinthians from the King James Version. The JTCS team was coached by Billie Sue Martin and Pas tor Stephen Burrell from Faith Baptist Church of Jefferson. College updates Breidenstein makes dean’s honor roll at Wichita St. Wichita State University has announced the names of more than 3500 students who were on the WSU dean’s honor roll for fall 2022. Jessica M. Breidenstein, of Hoschton, was among those named to the list. To be included on the dean's honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, London makes president’s list at Drake University Drake University has an nounced its president’s list for the fall 2022 semester. Charlsie London, of Jefferson, was among those named to the president’s list. To be eligible for the presi dent’s list, students must have earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2022 semester at Drake. U. of Mississippi announces dean’s honor roll The University of Mississippi announced the following local students were named to the fall 2022 honor roll: • Ava Ezzell of Braselton •Hayden McGee of Bra selton • Katherine Sims, of Jefferson The dean’s honor roll is re served for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74. In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester. Murray makes dean’s list at University of Maryland James Murray, of Jefferson, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). To be eligible for the hon or, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
